An idyllic retreat nestling in glorious countryside on the edge of Bodmin Moor, this single-storey detached holiday cottage is beautifully presented. Guests can enjoy the owner’s delightful gardens, children must be supervised at all times if using this garden. Just 30 minutes’ drive to the Cornish coasts and ideal for nature lovers and walkers. A perfect location for families or couples wanting to be near the amazing coastline and the lively resort of Bude, yet set in the quieter area of Stratton and just a 5-minute walk from the local pub. This detached dormer bungalow is light, bright and airy inside with a fresh modern decoration. To the rear is a large lawned garden with a parking area to the front, all fully enclosed. The kitchen is modern and has a small breakfast bar area, and there is a separate utility room. The dining room has the original stripped pine wooden floorboards, an electric fire and TV. The living room is cosy with reclining sofas, an electric fire and wall mounted Smart TV.

The village of Stratton has an excellent community spirit with traditional pubs and local shops, whilst being only a short drive from Bude’s full range of amenities and beach life with miles of sand, swimming and surf. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive of this cottage including Crackington Haven, Boscastle and Morwenstow, whilst further afield the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination.

Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited, you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone including great beaches for relaxing and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafés to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the South West Coast Path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and a heritage centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants and an excellent information centre. Beach 2½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Hallagenna Cottages are located in the village of St Breward, and comprise four traditional Cornish cottages set in five acres of land, in one of the most stunning parts of the country. Enjoy uninterrupted views of Bodmin Moor, amble along to the local 11th-century pub for your dinner, cycle and explore the famous 18-mile long Camel Trail (only a 5-minute drive away) which can be completed on foot or on bicycle, or take horse rides onto the moor virtually from your own front door (Hallagenna riding stables located opposite). The stunning Cornish coast and historic fishing villages such as Port Isaac and Padstow to name but a few are also within easy reach, and there’s so much more.
Hallagenna was once a farm and the home of Beatos, the black stallion from the Lloyds Bank adverts. Although now no longer a working farm, Hallagenna maintains its rural character. The farm has its own miniature pigs and chickens and horses graze in the paddock and share their fields with wild rabbits, which can be easily spotted amongst the grass. A wealth of wildlife can be found grazing the adjacent moor, including ponies, cattle and sheep. Hallagenna Cottages have their own access to Bodmin Moor so it’s ideal for dog walking, hiking, exploring or simply taking in the view.
This beautiful former farm worker’s cottage is set in open moorland (a designated Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty). The two-storey cottage retains many of its original features, such as traditional Cornish stone walls and exposed beams. This cottage accommodation includes TV/Freeview and DVD player. Wi-Fi access is also included. There is a wood burner to keep you warm on the winter nights, and a basket of logs is provided. The living room and dining area are located upstairs in the property. This allows you to make the most of the views across the courtyard and Bodmin Moor beyond.
There is the fully fitted kitchen including a fridge with an ice box, microwave and washer/dryer, a bathroom with bath/shower, and two bedrooms: one double and a second bedroom with two single beds. These are located downstairs in the property. The main bedroom is accessed by a small flight of stairs. A private barbecue is also provided so you can enjoy the warm Cornish sun in your enclosed courtyard garden located at the front of the property.

Polean Farm Cottages are located in Cornwall, down green lanes, off the Looe to Polperro road, just outside the village of Pelynt. The farm is set amongst rolling farmland and is less than 2 miles from the sea. All of the cottages are full of character and provide a cosy home-from-home. They have all been converted from original farm buildings which date back to the 18th century.
The Old Farmhouse (ref UK12895) is a historical, semi-detached farmhouse which has been tastefully renovated and is perfect for a large family get together or for two families to holiday together.
Little Owls Cottage (ref UK12896) is a detached barn named after the owls that still live in the nesting boxes around the building which can sometimes be heard at night. It is set in its own garden with glorious views across the farm and towards the village of Pelynt.
Rosebud Cottage (ref UK12897) and Shires Rest (ref UK12899) are pleasant, beamed cottages with lovely countryside views. Before being converted, both cottages were used to store hay in the winter and you can still see many of the original features.
Threpney Cottage (ref UK12898) is an imaginatively converted ’roundhouse’ and is full of character. The cottage was named after the old twelve sided three penny piece due to its shape.
Twinkles Cottage (ref UK12900) is a charming and spacious ‘upside down’, beamed cottage, with great views across the farm and surrounding countryside.
Waggoners Cottage (ref UK12901) is a delightful single-storey cottage, with its own garden and views of the front fields and the children’s play area at the rear. The cottage was named after the wagons that used to be stored in it and you can still see many of the original features of the barn.
The Mealhouse (ref UK12902) was originally used to store the feed or ‘meal’ for the pigs that resided in the pig sty which can still be seen across from it. The Mealhouse is detached and set slightly apart from the other cottages, offering uninterrupted views across the farm.
Polean Farm provides the perfect destination for a family holiday. The farm offers animal feeding each week day morning, where you may help bottle feed lambs (seasonal) and hand feed pigmy goats and chickens, as well as enjoy pony or tractor rides! The farm is also a working livery yard and children and parents often enjoy visiting the horses and ponies each day.
Guests have free use of an indoor heated swimming pool just a few minutes’ drive away. It’s perfect for families and children who want to splash around or those wanting to put in a few lengths and keep fit. Guests are also welcome to make free use of the nightly entertainment at the same local holiday complex which is just a few minutes’ drive from the farm. The entertainment is on every night and includes children’s entertainment, followed by grown up entertainment with top musicians, performers and comedians regularly appearing throughout the season. Children are allowed in the venue for the whole evening. Please note, the pool is not available during August due to overcrowding, and entertainment is not available November-March (except during school holidays). Located at the end of a long private drive, these two stunning, eco-friendly barn conversions enjoy an elevated position with views over rolling countryside on the outskirts of St Just. Each detached property is set all on one level and have been converted to a good standard, featuring a private lawned garden with patio area, perfect for al fresco dining.

Guinea fowls roam nearby and peacocks strut within the gardens surrounding the neighbouring owners’ farmhouse. Both The Hen House (ref UK12928) and The Perch (ref UK12929) boast a cosy wood burner, perfect for cosying up on chilly nights, as well as spacious open plan living spaces, giving a light and airy feel. The Perch offers an idyllic getaway for small families, while The Henhouse is the perfect retreat for couples, offering a private wood-fired tub!

St Just has a lively square with some wonderful individual shops including supermarket, butchers, bakers, greengrocers and an array of individual art galleries and small craft shops. If you don’t want to cook, there are some lovely tea rooms and local pubs serving great local ales and food.
This is the ideal location for exploring this wonderful part of Cornwall with its mining heritage, most recently a back drop for the TV series ‘Poldark’. Visit the lovely Cot Valley in Cape Cornwall, with its rolling landscape, rugged coastline and access to miles of scenic coastal paths. Cape Cornwall Golf club is open to non- members and makes for a great day out for enthusiasts.

Take a short drive to Lands’ End or the beautiful white sandy beach and harbour at Sennen Cove, a popular spot with surfers and those who love the beach. Take the scenic coastal drive from Pendeen to St Ives across stunning moorland, passing the small village of Zennor with its tales of mermaids, an ancient church and a charming local pub.

Be sure to visit the Minack open air theatre, built directly into the cliff face with the ocean as a backdrop. A short drive to Penzance or the historic town of Marazion are great options also, where you can pop over to the small island of St Michaels Mount. Alternatively take a day trip to the beautiful Isles of Scilly by air from nearby Lands’ End Airport, or via the small walk-on ferry from Penzance. Beach 3¾ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

The secluded National Trust beach at Holywell combines golden soft sands and safe bathing with dynamic caves and cliff walks. Holywell Bay derived its name from a spring-fed well, said to have curative properties.
This property is ideal for a family summer holiday or a winter escape for a couple or small group of friends. Newquay, with its beaches and a huge array of restaurants, bars and clubs, is only 10 minutes away. Beach 1 mile.
