The pretty cove of Cwmtydu sits at the end of a deep wooded valley encircled by high grasslands where you may spot wild ponies. A restored lime kiln spans along the rear of the beach, which is commonly thought to have been used by smugglers. Several cafes and spectacular cliff walks make the hamlet a popular spot for walkers and wildlife watchers, while the beach has good access for launching kayaks. The beach and surrounding coves are frequented by breeding seals and their pups, while boat trips for nearby New Quay depart daily in the summer months to glimpse Cardigan Bay’s famous bottlenose dolphins.
Basic supplies can be bought at the shop in Plwmp, 1 mile away. Alternatively, the bustling market town of New Quay, which offers a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants, is just 4 miles away.
4 miles in the opposite direction, Llangrannog offers a lovely, sheltered cove popular with families, and has great rock pools with the famous Carreg Bica rock (Devils Tooth) dividing its two sandy beaches at low tide. The village has two pubs, two café/restaurants, and a general store.

Ysgubor Blaenparc Barn is situated on the owner’s working farm, (small dogs welcome) with fabulous views over the Cambrian Mountains, perfect for exploring the Cardigan coastline. There are over 60 miles of glorious coastline in Cardigan Bay, with lots of beaches and coves. The pretty coastal resort and fishing village of New Quay and the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron can be easily reached within a 20-minute drive as well as the coves of Cwmtydu and Llangrannog. You’re very likely to see dolphins in the bay and there are boat trips available to watch them and the other wildlife. The Victorian seaside and university town of Aberystwyth is also within easy reach, and here you’ll find a traditional pier, promenade and the old electric cliff railway to the summit of Constitution Hill, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the bay.
If outdoor activities are your thing, there are plenty of options for walkers and cyclists of all abilities at the National trust estate Llanerchaeron as well as horse riding, canoeing and more. You can enjoy a day out at the National Trust Dolaucothi Gold Mines at Pumpsaint, the Silver Mountain Experience (silver-lead mines) at Ponterwyd or the red kite feeding centre at Bwlch Nant Yr Arian. If you fancy adventuring out, there are a number of beaches only a short drive away, including Penbryn, Tresaith, Mwnt, Llangranog and Poppit Sands. This 19th-century property has been lovingly converted by the current owners to a high standard and offers a perfect holiday for families and couples alike. It is bright and spacious inside. Bird watching, hiking and star-gazing opportunities can be found right outside the doorstep. Welshouse enjoys open plan living on the ground floor, with a kitchen, dining area and living area with a focal wood burner. There are French doors opening onto your private patio and enclosed garden, with views over the lush green meadows and grazing sheep and cows. The picturesque hamlet of Henllan, with the Teifi Valley Railway, scenic valley views and ancient woodlands walk next to river rapids is close by. The town of Newcastle Emlyn is a 6-minute drive away, offers a plethora of shops, restaurants, antique shops, with the famous salmon River Teifi meandering through the town and around the ruined castle. there is a pretty park alongside the river to walk. Within a 15-30 mins drive are several beautiful beaches and horseshoe coves such as Penbryn, with woodlands, waterfall and stream and Tresaith with waterfall on the beach, the coastal village of Aberporth, quaint Llangranog and picturesque resort of New Quay, famous for its dolphin spotting from its harbour. You can take wildlife spotting boat trips from here. From any of these beaches you can start walking along the magnificant Heritage coastline and find tucked away beaches.
Other attractions are a visit to the picturesque Georgian coastal village of Aberaeron, with attractive harbour and a wide choice of pubs, restaurants and individual shops, the National Wool Museum, Cenarth Falls and National Coracle Centre, with boardwalk-way alongside the rapids. Also Llandysul river rapids with outdoor activities centre. The market town of Cardigan is nearby, with several art galleries, individual shops, and a beautiful castle and an opportunity for boat trips down the estuary. Close to Cardigan is the beautiful village of St Dogmaels with abbey ruins and just around the corner the stunning beach of Poppit Sands. Cardigan Bay enjoys a rich marine environment throughout the year, with bottlenose dolphins, harbour porpoise, Atlantic grey seals, and a variety of birdlife to be spotted.

Caravan Two is situated on the owner’s land, with six lakes available for coarse and fly fishing (equipment for all fishing needs can be hired on-site). This detached static caravan offers open plan living, a bathroom, a twin room and a double room, as well as a lawned area to the front overlooking the main coarse fishing lake. It lies in a lovely hamlet just 4¼ miles from the fabulous harbour town of Aberaeron. This town is a Georgian jewel with elegant, colour-washed houses surrounding the harbour and was reputedly planned and designed by John Nash. It has a shingle beach and there is a range of small, interesting shops, craft centres, pubs and restaurants.
Nearby Cardigan Bay has lots to see and do in and around the town. There are two beaches to enjoy, good launching for small boats from the harbour, boat trips to spot the marine life, sea angling, fishing for salmon/sea trout on the River Aeron or you can enjoy a cycle ride along one of the five Wales’ cycle trails. Why not take a stroll along Lover’s Walk’ past four weirs and along the river valley to Llanachaeron? Or try a coastal clifftop walk with stunning sea views and spectacular wildlife.
The property is also just 5 miles from New Quay Beach, a quaint seaside town with an array of little shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs. Enjoy fish and chips along the harbour whilst looking out for the frequently visiting bottlenose dolphins.
