Located in the hamlet of Meshaw, there are walks into the surrounding countryside from the door.

For a wider range of amenities, head to the market town of South Molton. The property is ideally situated for exploring all of North Devon and Exmoor. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path and many places to visit to make your holiday memorable. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (National Trust), the valley of the rocks and the funicular cliff railway, are well worth a visit, or looking towards Minehead, visitors can go back in time on the scenic West Somerset Steam Railway, or visit the enchanting medieval Dunster Castle (also National Trust), with its beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and mill, all making for an interesting day out. Nearer to home, guests can wine and dine in the pubs and a Michelin 1* restaurant nearby. There is also fishing, golf and cycling available. Further afield, the resorts of Ilfracombe, Bideford and Combe Martin are well worth a visit. For some of the best beaches in the country, visit Woolacombe and Saunton. Beach 25 miles. Snowdrop Cottage is a pretty Grade II listed thatched cottage set in a wonderfully peaceful location in the mid-Devon village of Lapford. This 300-year-old mid terrace holiday home is the perfect spot for a couple or a family to come and enjoy a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle. Based in the heart of the village, there is a great 16th century dog friendly pub nearby as well as a train station which runs an hourly service between Barnstaple and Exeter and a convenience store.
The cottage has two bedrooms and plenty of character with many original features such as the traditional Devonshire cob walls and the quaint original cottage doors. Walk along the cobbled path leading to the front door and step into the cottage and into the cosy living room with it’s comfortable seating, electric wood burner, Smart TV with freeview and a table and chairs to enjoy a home cooked meal. The stylish kitchen boasts granite worktops, charming wooden units and it is fully equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, under-counter fridge with an icebox and a coffee pod machine. The kitchen then leads to a useful utility room with a washing machine and the shower room which has a shower cubicle, toilet and sink.
Heading up to the first floor, there are two well presented bedrooms; the first with a double bed and the second with a single bed and an additional pull-out single trundle bed. Please be aware that there isn’t any floor space in the single room when both beds are setup so it is really only suitable for two children. Please note that due to the nature of the age of the cottage, the stairs are steep, but handrail is provided.
Lapford is a charming village on the Tarka railway line and within a 30-minute drive there are a choice of National Parks and pretty towns and villages. Visit the rugged coastline and beaches of the North and South Devon coasts for a rejuvenating day by the sea. To the north you have the beautiful villages of Croyde and Woolacombe which offer sandy beaches and to the south you have the dramatic red cliffs of Sidmouth with its pebbled beach and Exmouth with its various watersports on offer. The beaches are around 50 - 70 minutes’ drive from the property.
Other local popular attractions include Eggesford Forest, RHS Rosemoor, Castle Drogo, various National Trust properties and family theme parks such as the Milky Way, Crealey and the Big Sheep. For those looking for an adventure during their stay, then you must discover the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor which are renowned for their changing landscape, stunning views, deep wooded valleys with fast flowing rivers and rugged, wide-open spaces. Venture towards the Tarka Trail, a series of footpaths and cyclepaths, boasting a plethora of countryside and coastal views along the way. You’ll struggle to fit everything into one visit to Snowdrop Cottage and you will certainly want to stay time and time again! Tembridge House is a luxurious, four-bedroom converted barn set on West Yeo Farm near Witheridge in mid Devon. Surrounded by rolling green fields in splendid isolation, West Yeo Farm is set over 76 acres. This medieval farm, mentioned in the Domesday book, enjoys uninterrupted countryside views across the valley to the village of Witheridge beyond. There are many interesting walks across the land and along the river nearby, and in the autumn, it is possible to help with the annual apple harvest and cider production. This part of Devon is an excellent touring base with easy access to lots of places of interest. Nearby you can explore the Two Moors Way, visit RHS Rosemoor, The Grand Western Canal, Knightshayes House or the breathtaking scenery at Exmoor National Park, a short drive away. Palm View is a delightful holiday property situated just outside of the town of Paignton, a seaside town making up part of the beautiful English Riviera and close to the beautiful village of Stoke Gabriel. This pet friendly bungalow benefits off road parking and picturesque garden and is just a 10-minute downhill walk into the town.
As you enter Palm View you find yourself in the bright and airy open plan living/dining/kitchen area. With fully equipped kitchen and central island, perfect for rustling up a good meal. The living/dining area is alongside this with comfortable sofa seating, Freeview TV and glimpses of the sea. This area as a whole is very social with doors opening out onto the rear garden, a great set up for hosting those summer barbecues for family and friends. The rear garden is a lovely area to sit out in with various plants/shrubs and seating on the decked area. There is also a large studio in the back garden which guests can use as a games room/lounge area with sofa seating. Back into the property and there are three good sized bedrooms, sleeping up to seven guests! The main bedroom contains a double bed and has fitted wardrobes for guests use. The second bedroom also contains a double bed and the third bedroom has a double bed with single bunk over, a great room for children or adults alike. The family shower room in the property boasts a walk-in shower and stylish his and hers sinks.
Just up the road from Palm View are Primley Woods, a large field and wooded area which is great for walking those four legged friends. Just a short walk downhill into the first part of the town is where you can find several takeaways, shops and pubs as well as a laundrette if needed. A bit further into town and onto Paignton seafront and beach with its arcades, pier, mini golf course and various pubs/restaurants often hosting live music. Paignton harbour also has some good quality new restaurants, especially for seafood. If guests are wanting to explore the local area as well as Paignton, the nearby towns of Torquay with its marina, the famous fishing town of Brixham and Dartmouth and Kingswear are a relatively short drive away, as is the nearby city of Exeter. The town is only a 15 minute walk and only a 20 minute walk from the coast.

Tawny Cottage at Woodbury Farm Cottages boasts both character and contemporary aspects. Based in a rural setting on the owner’s farm, the surroundings give guests the feeling of peace and space while still being just a stone’s throw from the main town of Dartmouth itself. At the front of the property is a patio with seating, making this a great place to enjoy looking out across the rolling nearby fields with a morning coffee or a late-night glass of wine.
Upon entering the property on the ground floor are the three bedrooms. One bedroom contains twin single beds, another with a kingsize bed with its own en-suite shower room, and the final bedroom again contains a kingsize bed with access to the main bathroom from the bedroom and the hallway. Upstairs then leads to the large open plan living/dining/kitchen area, with high vaulted ceilings and lots of natural light, this space feels spacious, bright and airy. Here the kitchen is well-equipped, just next to the dining area with table and chair seating and a cosy wood burner in the living space with Smart TV and sofa seating.
The main town of Dartmouth is just a 10-minute drive away, as are the local supermarkets and petrol stations, just a 5-minute drive in the same direction. The popular Dartmouth golf club is only an 8-minute drive in the opposite direction, as is the family fun adventure park, Woodlands. Guests wanting to venture further afield can take the ferry from Dartmouth acrpss to Kingswear and onto the famous fishing town of Brixham, or alternatively drive into the market town of Totnes and explore the rest of the South Hams
Beautiful local beaches include Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands which stretches for three miles along the coast, part of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Away from the coast take a trip to the wild beauty of Dartmoor, 40 minutes’ drive away. Regardless of the nature of your visit, Tawny Cottage is a fantastic place to start.

Oaklands is a luxurious and spacious holiday home set in its own acre of ground, with three beautiful bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan kitchen, dining and living area all on the same level. The doorways are wide enough for wheelchairs and ramps can be provided over the doorways if requested, however please note the property hasn’t been specifically set-up for wheelchair users so the kitchen and bathrooms may not be suitable The accommodation feels bright and welcoming with high beamed ceilings, underfloor heating throughout and plenty of large windows, patio doors and sliding doors seamlessly blending the living spaces with the outdoor landscape. Guests will love the rural tranquil location with plenty of wildlife, starry skies, distant views of Dartmoor and beautiful scenery that this perfect get away can offer.

This three-bedroomed chocolate-box Grade II thatched cottage sits within Cockington Country Park, 450 acres of heaven less than a mile from the sea. The cottage has three good-sized bedrooms and can comfortably sleep six adults. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and an en-suite shower room, the second bedroom has a super kingsize bed that can be split to form two single beds (please ensure this is requested if required). The third bedroom has a double bed. Whilst a cot is not provided, the first two bedrooms can accommodate a travel cot. Two z-beds are available and can be sited in rooms 1 and 2.
Between Easter and October, we operate a Tea Garden at the rear of the property between 10am and 5pm. Your privacy is not impinged, your courtyard garden is private and the Tea Garden’s kitchen, although in the same building, is secured from the rest of the cottage. Weavers cottage is situated in a fantastic position for exploring the historic and well-regarded village of Cockington.
Not to mention being just a stone’s throw from Torquay seafront and harbourside with its array of bars/restaurants. There are plenty of beautiful nearby walks and the cottage is situated right in the heart of the English Riviera for ease of access exploring everything the South Hams has to offer.
