This charming seaside holiday cottage has been carefully renovated to provide modern living, while retaining its original features including beams and a wood burner. The large kitchen/dining area makes this a good sociable house. Mere metres from the beach and in the heart of the village of Allonby, this cottage will be a hit with adults and children alike, with its famous ice cream, village play area (50 metres away with no roads to cross) and a range of pubs and cafes all only a short stroll away. The main living room and a cosy second living room provide good flexibility of living. The unbroken 26 mile long Hadrian’s cycleway between Maryport and Silloth, and the miles and miles of beach make this a great place to get out and explore. Nearby there is also the aquarium, Roman and maritime museums, go karting, climbing cave and wall, and some of the best golf in the country. Set within a conservation area and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Allonby is also perfectly situated for birdwatching along the Solway Estuary, as well as providing some absolutely stunning sunsets. Keswick, 26 miles. Beach 35 yards. Shop 50 yards, pub 75 yards and restaurant 100 yards.

This semi-detached cottage is the ideal getaway for anyone looking to visit the Lake District, and the owner includes festive decorations at Christmas. It sits just on the outskirts of Ulverston, making it easy to walk into the centre to enjoy the delights that the town has to offer, and has off-street parking for two cars. The comfortable living room includes a leather three-seater recliner and recliner chair, and a 43" Smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime will keep you entertained. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a kingsize bed, which has been newly redecorated in 2021 (hair dryer also provided) and which has an en-suite shower room. There is also a further double bedroom and a single bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe. Outside, the secluded, enclosed garden also has storage for bikes.
Ulverston is a great place from which to explore the South Lakes. The property is a 6-minute walk to the shortest canal in England and is a favourite for fishermen. Walking the canal takes you to Canal Foot and the tidal estuary where you can enjoy a drink overlooking the sea. The coast is a very short drive away at Bardsea where you can enjoy the best ice cream around and walk for miles on the quiet beach.
The town of Ulverston is packed with character from the markets and festivals to the independent shops that make up the high streets. So whether you want the high-end family butcher, the huge selection of freshly ground coffees or unique gifts, Ulverston has it all in walking distance of the property.
There are some fabulous restaurants in the town with high Tripadvisor ratings. If you like Mexican food, there a great restaurant in the town, but be warned, you will need to book weeks in advance!
There is lots to do in the South Lakes whatever the weather or time of year. You will pass the Motor Museum on the way into Ulverston, and the Cumbrian Heavy Horse Centre is only a short drive away, as is the South Lakes Zoo (with pre-booking you can be a zoo-keeper for the day).
The centre of Windermere is half an hour away with all the lake attractions and the Beatrix Potter Trail. Lake Coniston is a quarter of an hour away and the famous Hoad monument is an energetic climb within walking distance of the property. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
