Chulmleigh is a Saxon hilltop village made up of thatched cottages, traditional pubs and a small collection of independent shops. There is a children’s play park, and dining options consist of three pubs in the town, a cosmopolitan restaurant and an Indian restaurant/takeaway.

Chulmleigh town centre is now a conservation area and the rich grassland found here is home to the largest population of otters in any natural area in England. The area provides access to an abundance of leisure activities including walking, cycling, fishing, golf and horse riding along with a number of historic houses and gardens in the vicinity.

There are two rivers (The Little Dart and Huntacott) meandering through the grounds and a private fishing lake where guests can enjoy free fly and coarse fishing and catch carp, rudd, chubb, roach, brown trout and tench. There is also complimentary fishing on both rivers where brown trout, sea trout and salmon can be caught together with coarse fish.

Old Dairy can be booked together with Cider Barn (BCPMCIDE) via an interconnecting door, and also Park Mill Farm (BCPMFARM) and The Smithy (BCPMSMIT) to accommodate up to 18 guests.

Withymead Cottage is nestled on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Bishopsteignton, next door to a working vineyard, and just outside the seaside towns of Teignmouth, Shaldon and Dawlish. The property is entered via a gate beside the parking area, which is for up to two cars, and shared with the owners, who live next door. The garden is enclosed with fabulous countryside views and a lovely outdoor seating/ BBQ area, which is tranquil, relaxing, and with afternoon/evening sun. It is pet friendly and perfect for walkers and birdwatching, or just to relax and get away from it all.

Entering the property you will find a level open plan living space, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table and comfortable lounge area complete with a wood burner, Smart TV and sofa bed if required. Large windows, one with a Juliet balcony, look out from the living area to the gorgeous garden and green fields beyond, providing great natural light. There is a vineyard right next door, and many local public footpaths, one of these running beside the cottage and leading to the ancient Old Walls Bishops Palace ruins (also next door). A well-known local brewery is 1.7 miles away, and accessible via a public footpath. If you fancy a round of golf, the Teignmouth Golf Course is just 1 mile away. Withymead is close to many of the regions popular tourist attractions and local beaches. Exeter and the English Riviera are a short drive away, and this property is ideal if you are a keen walker, with the South West Coastal Path and Dartmoor also nearby.
