If you fancy enjoying traditional fish and chips at the seaside, Ryde’s got it, but Ryde’s dining out scene has expanded over the past few years and vegan pizza, gourmet burgers, stylish cocktails can all be found in Ryde.
Along the promenade, you will find tennis courts, ten pin bowling, a fun fair, canoeing lake and a swimming pool, providing plenty to do locally. You can also enjoy the scenic coastal walks, go crabbing, sailing, fishing, horse riding, golf or even go-karting, all of which are easily accessible from the property. There are numerous attractions across the island to discover for all ages, including The Needles, with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Make sure you take time to visit Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, and Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK. St Helens is a coastal village on the east side of the island, with a village pub and shop just a moment’s stroll away from Coed Faen. There is a large village green that offers excellent views over the busy harbour of Bembridge, and is also home to the ruins of St Helens Church which was destroyed by a wave in the 18th century. A lovely beach is not far away either, making this location lots of fun for the kids and adults alike. Despite being a small village St Helens has some great places to eat. There are a couple of popular restaurants and cafés, one of which sits beach-side down at the Duver. The Isle of Wight has lots to offer. Outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, water sports and golf.

This Shepherd’s Hut with stunning views, hot tub and private use of the indoor pool has direct access to Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty South Coast paths, pubs and shops. The living area has stable doors from which to enjoy the uninterrupted valley views, and the dining furniture can be used inside or out. The bedroom area with a wardrobe and storage, has a double bed made up of quality linens, that can be stored vertically for extra space. The garden is enclosed and partly sheltered and has a fire pit and undercover area with fairy lights, a worktop, sink, BBQ (including starter coals) and loungers to soak up the great views. This is an area with low light pollution and the Protected Sky Status for star gazing! Visitors have direct access to 2-acre dog walking paddocks and further Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty Isle of Wight paths. There is a shared indoor heated swimming pool and private use can be arranged with the owner prior to arrival.

You are welcome to join the owners for a walk or cycle to the nearby St Catherine’s Oratory or ‘Pepperpot’, as it is known locally, or into the close by villages of Whitell and Niton, with many options to venture further afield.

The house is a beautiful 1820 building and the conversion is tasteful and contemporary whilst retaining the original features and was fully renovated May 2019. Exposed beams, high ceilings and large windows with panoramic views offer period elegance with every modern comfort catered for. The rooms are set over three floors, starting with an impressive wide entrance hall with plenty of space and storage available. A utility room and downstairs toilet are also provided for your convenience. The vast show stopping kitchen (custom designed by Tom Howley of Surrey), living room and dining area is the perfect place to spend quality time together. The dining table seating ten or more guests is bordered with windows overlooking the lush green gardens and the garden itself is accessed via patio doors. The patio holds a beautiful outdoor sofa, the perfect place to relax your afternoons and evenings away. There is a gas barbecue to provide culinary delights for your friends and family all within the same setting, so the chef is never far from the party!
The Farmhouse is a perfect base to relax, unwind in and explore this unique corner of Britain. With many attractions, countryside and seaside resorts, there is definitely something for everyone. If you want to stay local, the beautiful Brook Bay is a 2-minute drive away and the sunsets on this side of the island are a must see, just stunning.

The model village at Godshill is also not to be missed as this gives a good overview of the island and its attractions, all in miniature of course.

The position of Captain’s Cottage couldn’t be better, it is right in the heart of this beautiful seaside resort, with shops, bars, and restaurants on your doorstep. It’s only a 10-minute stroll to the wonderful sandy beaches too. Shanklin is one of the most popular seaside resorts on the island, home to the Old Village and Shanklin Chine. The seafront is packed with amusements, activities, and crazy golf courses. Within a moment’s walk of Captain’s Cottage is the bus station, which has great links to anywhere on the island and there is also an open-top bus in the summer season, great for sight seeing. At the end of the road, there is also a train station, which stops at several coastal towns. As you enter Zues you are greeted by a well-equipped and beautifully furnished apartment. The apartment has an open plan living area, which means you are not missing out on the fun whilst you are cooking. There is a double bedroom and a lovely bathroom with a shower. Zues has an outside seating area where you can relax with your morning coffee or maybe a glass of wine in the evening.
What is truly amazing about Zues is that you can walk to the beach in under 10 minutes. There are many bars and restaurants locally, some on the seafront itself and there is a fabulous cocktail bar on the high street. You can pick up your groceries here as there are two supermarkets in Sandown and corner shops too. There is a revetment walkway from Sandown which takes you to the neighbouring resort of Shanklin. Here you will find the famous Old Village and Shanklin Chine. There are great transport links in Sandown, you can ride the train and visit Ryde, a Victorian town with many bars and restaurants. Or you can hop on a bus to explore the island; in the summer months, there is an open top bus.

Relax into the three-seater sofa or armchair, or step through sliding doors out to the garden which has a large table and chairs/bench with cushions and barbecue (utensils provided) and relax in the summer sun with a glass of your favourite tipple. The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm whilst chatting with friends or family in this great social space. Don’t worry about washing up as there is even a dishwasher and washing machine! On the first floor, retreat to one of the two bedrooms for a restful night’s sleep, and you will also find the bathroom on this floor equipped with a shower and bath, for your choice of a relaxing soak or a quick rinse.
Coastal Soul is situated in the seaside village of Lake (between Sandown and Shanklin). Take a 5-minute walk down the path to the sandy beach and promenade which links Sandown to Shanklin. There you will find a friendly café and public restroom, meaning you can spend the whole day on the beach! The coastal path takes you to the public lift in Shanklin where you can find cafés, ice cream shops, crazy golf and amusement arcades.

Longford Cottage has been newly refurbished for 2023, and has been beautifully furnished; this cottage is a great choice for a holiday on the Isle of Wight. There are two double bedrooms, one of which is located on the ground floor, and a further snug with a chair bed and the best view. A beautiful kitchen with patio doors leading out to the garden, a charming living room, and a storage area for boot, coats, bicycles or kayaks and this room completes the ground floor. The absolute show stopper at Longford Cottage is the bathroom which definitely has the wow factor! There is a lovely garden with a stunning rural view. Sonos speakers have been installed throughout this beautiful cottage, so you can have music wherever you go.
Havenstreet is a delightful village approximately 2 miles from the seaside resort of Ryde. Havenstreet is home to the award-winning attraction which is the Isle of Wight steam railway. The village also has a great pub which also serves delicious food. There are many cycle trails from the village which will take you through beautiful rolling scenery. The “Island” as locals refer to it, has so much to offer such as The Needles, with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Blackgang Chine, Dinosaur Isle, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle and Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens are some of the attractions on offer.
