Discover Old Church Farm, a truly wonderful country home in the rural village of Hinstock, set in north Shropshire. This incredible property has that all important wow factor that sets your holiday apart from all others. Sleeping up to ten guests, escape the trappings of fast paced day-to-day life with your loved ones in tow and enjoy a relaxing break in the beautiful countryside between the market towns of Newport and Market Drayton. The amazing living spaces are perfect for relaxing in with your loved ones. These incredible rooms have character with big, exposed beams as well as plenty of natural light. Gather around the log-burner in the spacious living room with your friends and family, staying nice and toasty all year round. When the weather’s warm open the glass bi-fold doors from the kitchen and let that fresh air in! The five bedrooms are lovely and comfy and offer you and your group a lovely night’s sleep. There’s a master kingsize bedroom with en-suite facilities, as well as three further double rooms. There is then one room with a single day bed which can extend into a further single bed - which is great for children. The family bathroom has a luxurious roll top bath with a traditional shower attachment.
On summer days, when the weather is good, you’ll want to soak up the sunshine and sit and enjoy the large garden or hop into the hot tub for a relaxing soak. There’s a pizza oven and a gas barbecue to enjoy some al fresco dining, as well as the pretty lawned area where the children can play.
Take a walk around the village where you will find a small but well stocked village shop with a post office, a friendly community pub and a children’s playground which are only a 7-minute walk away. There are no direct bus routes in or out of the village, however, Newport (approximately 11 minutes’ drive away) and Market Drayton (approximately 11 minutes’ drive away) offer supermarkets, independent shops, cafés, bars, and restaurants to suit all tastes along with the weekly country market, monthly farmers’ market, canal walks and swimming pools/leisure centres, you have the ideal places to discover on your holiday.
Ironbridge, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, (approximately 32 minutes’ drive away), has plenty to see and do for all the family. Shrewsbury (approximately 30 minutes’ drive away), where ’A Christmas Carol’ was filmed on location, is full of finds to be discovered by foot or by boat. The River Severn is a must, as is the café culture, the castle and the churches that dominate Shrewsbury’s famous skyline. For the more adventurous travel seekers there are various walks and outdoor activities in Shropshire including Hawkstone Follies, an unforgettable day out for all the family with hidden caves, gullies, secret passages and much more.

Riverside Mill is a real gem of a traditional cottage, enjoying the peace and tranquillity of a riverside location yet just 4 miles from lively and bustling Kendal and the Lake District National Park. Beautifully renovated, Riverside Mill offers superb accommodation and is perfect for a family or group of friends who want to explore this picturesque corner of the country, whatever the time of year. The first thing that strikes you about this beautiful single-storey cottage, built from the local stone, is the stunning location, right on the banks of the River Mint.
Step inside and there’s a large and character filled open-plan living and formal dining area, split over two levels, with original exposed cruick beams and a magnificent inglenook fireplace with wood burner. Sumptuous sofas are ideal for curling up in front of the fire on a cool evening. There are huge glazed doors with access to the balcony, making this room not only light and airy, but making the most of those fabulous riverbank views. The breakfast-kitchen is fully equipped and the cosy cottage atmosphere and lovely views make this the perfect place to start the day. All the accommodation is on the same level with a magnificent master bedroom, a twin bedroom and a single with lovely river views. The bathroom has a bath, separate shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet.
But it’s outside where you’ll want to spend as much time as possible at this fabulous holiday destination, listening to the babbling of the river as it flows through the mill race in the garden. Outside you will find the private hot tub that accommodates 6 guests, and also the Glamping Pod that sits nestled next to the river and the waterfall, offering an extra bathroom and sleeping up to four, this cosy addition has underfloor heating and is sure to delight any guests looking for a memorable location and stay. There’s a courtyard garden to make the most of the views, and a fabulous decked balcony that gives you incredible views of the mill race and waterfall - it’s the perfect spot to relax with a drink after a busy day in the Lakes. There’s also 500 yards of fishing rights, so keen fisherman need to pack their licences! Riverside Mill & Glamping Pod also provides off-road parking for four cars. Bring the whole family to this relaxing home ideal for exploring the Suffolk countryside. Sleeping nine guests across five bedrooms. Saskia’s Place is a stylish, comfortable holiday home, located in the village of Brantham.
There is also a cloakroom, shower room, kitchen, dining room and a sitting room with a gas fire and panoramic views of the countryside and river stour. There is a large, enclosed garden, featuring a large hot tub and outdoor seating area, as well as off-road parking for two cars.
Saskia’s Place is the perfect location for an indulgent escape to Suffolk. Brantham village has a small village shop which is open daily. Larger supermarkets and shops can be found in Manningtree, Ipswich, and Colchester. A few minutes’ walk from the cottage is the Brantham Bull pub, an inn dating from the 16th century.
Jimmy’s Farm, owned and run by Jamie Oliver’s friend Jimmy Doherty, is off the A137 to Ipswich at Wherstead. You can take a trip to Alton Water, a large reservoir, with nature trails, cycle hire, sailing and footpaths.
There are several attractions in the towns of Ipswich and Colchester, including a Norman Castle, Roman ruins, and a zoo, while historic Ipswich is home to the historic Christchurch Mansion, as well as a newly revitalized waterfront. For security purposes the owner has CCTV installed covering the exterior of the property.

Coppice Hill House offers a comfortable and homely base for couples and families wishing to explore this popular part of Hampshire. It lies on the edge of the South Downs National Park making this ideal for keen walkers and cyclists. Southampton and the historic cathedral city of Winchester can be reached within 10 miles.
Parts of this characterful Grade II listed property dates back to the 15th century, with some later additions, mainly in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is steeped in history, and was formerly a pub, a school, a place for the manufacture of bespoke bricks and tiles, and also a doctors surgery. This traditional, detached family home enjoys some charming features such as beams, tiled floors, inglenook fireplaces, original oak floors, wood panelling in the dining room, a Rayburn, walled garden and a wood burner. The naval city of Portsmouth is 14 miles away, with its historic dockyard, home to Nelson’s Victory and The Mary Rose, along with waterside dining, extensive designer shops and ferry trips to the Isle of Wight. Winchester, Southampton with its shopping centre and the New Forest with extensive heathland walks, riding and cycling opportunities are approximately 40 minutes away. Historic Chichester with its cathedral and festival theatre, the city of Winchester, beaches at West Witterings or Hayling Island, the Watercress steam train, Jane Austens’ House, Gilbert White’s house and Birdworld, Marwell Zoo and Peppa Pig World are all easily reached. A stunning property, with a private hot tub, set in a secluded rural location within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Overloooking the Alkham Valley, it is located on a 50-acre working farm, with horses, rare breed sheep and alpacas. It adjoins the owners’ home at one side of the livery yard. Steps lead from the terrace and hot tub down to a paddock, which is backed by woodland and is an ideal place for enjoying a picnic. In the cooler weather or in the evenings, you can light the wood burner, settle down in front of the huge cinema screen and open the popcorn! Enjoy sitting on the balcony with sea glimpses accessible from one of the bedrooms.

Walks are available from the doorstep, or you can gather your buckets and spades and head to Folkestone, 3 miles, where you will find the aptly named Sunny Sands Beach by the harbour wall, and where you can treat yourself to fish and chips. For animal lovers, Port Lympne Zoo and Howletts Zoo make great days out, whilst Canterbury is a ½-hour drive. Visit the magnificent cathedral there, or take a boat or punt out on the River Stour. The bargain hunter is also well catered for at McArthur Glen designer outlet at Ashford and the De Bradlei Wharf in Dover. Whilst there, visit imposing Dover Castle, or bring your passport and take a ferry from Dover to Calais, or take the train and have lunch in Paris. Beach 3 miles. French doors lead you out into the beautifully landscaped back garden. To the back of the property, you will find a large conservatory boasting spectacular views! Ancroft is a very small rural village, it sits just 5 miles from the popular Berwick Upon Tweed, take a stroll to one of four beautiful beaches, offering water sporting opportunities, breath-taking scenery, and plenty of family excitement, you’ll truly be spoilt for choice. Enjoy a relaxing game of golf, or enrich yourself with the history of Berwick Castle, involved in many Anglo-Saxon wars, there’s plenty to uncover. Take a scenic stroll along the River Tweed before enjoying a spot of lunch in one of the many eateries on offer or take a trip to nearby Duns to discover its award-winning butcher and delicatessen, alongside being an exciting hub for racing enthusiasts with its Jim Clark Museum and the Jim Clark Rally. Also, in easy reach of Bamburgh, a stunningly attractive small village set on the Northern stretch of the Northumberland Coast. It is without doubt dominated by its magnificently striking castle that can be seen for miles around, giving the whole village a somewhat dramatic feeling. You can’t fail to be impressed by the sheer scale of the castle once you are up close and in the village itself. There is much to do in the village alongside the castle and its amazing history, there are impressive stretches of pure golden sandy beaches, many English tea rooms and restaurants, and a newly renovated museum dedicated to Grace Darling.

The wonderfully welcoming owners have furnished the property with total guest comfort in mind and will be there to meet and greet you upon arrival. You will have the personal touch of them being on hand during your stay if you require, available to tailor your visit to your total satisfaction. E-bikes can also be booked before your arrival, by direct arrangement with the owners. The local area has an abundance of pubs, cafes, and a local shop/post office all only a short drive away. Langwathby train station is close by where you can ride the Carlisle to settle route, the cottage is also on the C2C route.
For busy days of exploration walking straight from Cherry Cottage, be sure to visit Lacy’s Caves, a series of five chambers carved out of the sandstone cliff, set along a beautiful walking route with views of the river and a wonderful garden to admire. Just a short walk from the village you can find Long Meg and her daughters, one of the finest stone circles in the north of England- ask the owners for its mythical and mysterious legend! These beautiful attractions can be enjoyed doing a circular walk.
If you are looking for activities to occupy the family, in the next village of Hunsonby there is an outdoor swimming pool open from April to September, and the village of Winskill has a large playground with zip wire to entertain our younger guests.

This property is a fascinating old Pembrokeshire farmhouse with part dating back to the 17th century. Rich in period interest with an inglenook fireplace, natural stone walls, some low doors, open beams and an oak staircase. There are wooden doors and window frames Upstairs windows fitted with childproof locks. Enjoy the rolling pastoral views towards Roch Castle.


During the 2022 season the property was not let while substantial refurbishment was undertaken. In doing this work great attention has been paid to maintain the essential character and charm of the property whist providing the everyday comforts expected by the modern family.

The large kitchen/diner has a wood burner in the inglenook, a large farmhouse table with country chairs and an old pine sideboard giving it a charming rustic air. There is a stone serving hatch through to a well-appointed kitchen.


Bring your dogs on holiday with you (up to 3 well-behaved dogs welcome) and enjoy the enclosed garden behind the property, as well as the glorious wildflower meadow shared with views towards Newgale and St Brides Bay.


The owners’ family live in a converted granary/dairy across what was previously the farm courtyard.


The pretty Pembrokeshire village of Solva is just 5 miles away. Here you’ll find an excellent general store and Post Office with an off licence also selling papers. More extensive shopping can be found in the county town of Haverfordwest 10 miles away - from banks, supermarkets and chemists to a bakery and interesting independent shops. There is also a filling station, doctors, and vet.


Newgale Beach is just over 3 miles away from the farmhouse, with it golden sands it’s beloved by surfers and kite surfers - wet suits and boards can be hired - and you can join the coastal footpath in either direction from here, exploring the flower decked cliffs as you go. For outdoor adventurers and nature lovers there is plenty to do - a myriad of pursuits and interests for all ages are to be found in this area famed for water sports, seafood, coves, harbours, and the unique Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park.
