The drive to the holiday cottages is delightful, miles of sea and fantastic countryside. Set about a mile away from the beaches and coves, one of the most popular bathing spots of the Lleyn Peninsula. ’Whistling sands’ is little more than a mile and equal distance is the popular resort of Aberdaron with its shops and eating houses. Cyll y Felin Fawr 1 boasts a welcoming coal fire and Cyll Y Felin Fawr 2 is ideal for children, the low attic bedroom being a great hideaway. Llanberris, the village at the foot of Snowdon, is five miles away with the Snowdon mountain railway and the Welsh Slate Museum, a fascinating glimpse into the slate industry. For the more adventurous, north Wales’ Zip World velocity, the longest, fastest zip wire in the northern hemisphere is also easily accessible.

Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle and a fine selection of shops, restaurants and pubs, is just 15 minutes drive away, and is also the start of the Welsh Highland Railway for scenic journeys into the heart of Snowdonia. The popular beaches of Dinas Dinlle and Llanfairfechan are only 20 minutes’ drive away. Tyn Y Maen is a perfect location for relaxing winter escapes and summer beach holidays.

On entering the proeprty you are greeted by a spacious open plan living space with doors leading out to the rear enclosed garden, from here there is a gate onto a path to which you can take a short walk down to Black Rock Sands, a large sandy beach that spans for 2 miles backed by sand dunes and plenty of rock pools to keep the children and adults entertained for hours. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need for your stay, there’s also a separate utility in the garden area. On the first floor there are three bedrooms all stylishly decorated, and a quality modern walk-in shower room.
There really is a lovely welcoming feeling in this house as soon as you walk through the door, and your ideally positioned to explore this special region. Around 15 minutes walk you will find the famous Black Rock Sands, You are perfectly placed for mountain and coastal walks.
There’s a wealth of activities in the area, from rock climbing, kayaking, quad bike tours, or why not take a Llama for a walk? You are also right next to a fantastic golf course. The nearby town of Porthmadog is only 2 miles away and has a wealth of places to eat, lots of quaint independent shops and is also home to the famous Welsh Highland Railway. The Italian style village of Portmeirion is a short 15-minute drive away. Take a drive a little further just under 12 miles and you’ll discover the imposing Harlech Castle which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Set less than 2 miles from the edge of the Snowdonia National Park why not take a walk up Wales’s highest mountain? Beach ½ mile.

Glasfryn Parc is also within easy reach, where you’re sure of a fun filled day out with go karting, ten pin bowling, fishing and various water sports including paddle boarding on offer.
