    Dating back to 1226, the market town of Ringwood stands on the banks of the River Avon and on the western fringes of the New Forest National Park. This route covers 34 miles of countryside stretching all the way from Salisbury in Wiltshire to Christchurch Priory on the south coast, following the River Avon the whole time. For more manageable walks, the route has been split into five smaller sections. One of Ringwood’s most popular attractions is the Brewery which offers tours of its premises. Just outside of the town is another top attraction, Liberty’s Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre, where visitors can meet birds of prey, reptiles and insects.
