    The village of Pen-Y-Bont is just 3 miles away and has a pub serving food. Further down the road in Crossgates there is a café, launderette and service station. The town of Llandrindod Wells is 8 miles and has an abundance of shops, restaurants and interesting walks and also a fabulous lake that you can take a stroll round whilst listening to the local wildlife. Offa’s Dyke, a famous walking trail, is only a 20-minute drive, and there are plenty of other scenic walks nearby. The Royal Welsh Showground, 15 miles, has lots to offer in the way of events and shows, not forgetting the famous Royal Welsh Show in July. Elan Valley is a must see – some fabulous dams and exploring to be done here. If you want to leave the car behind, Dolau station which is part of the Heart of Wales train line is just a 10-minute walk away.
