The borderlands of England and Wales have a fine selection of historic market towns to explore with Newtown being the closest and offering a good selection of pubs, restaurants excellent shopping and is famous for arts and music galleries, museums and a theatre. Forest View is self-contained, attached to the owner’s bungalow and is situated in Dolau in Powys. This ground floor accommodation is perfect for those looking to explore the area whether it be on foot or by bicycle, you can walk straight out from the front door into the open countryside – perfect for your four-legged friends!
The village of Pen-Y-Bont is just 3 miles away and has a pub serving food. Further down the road in Crossgates there is a café, launderette and service station. The town of Llandrindod Wells is 8 miles and has an abundance of shops, restaurants and interesting walks and also a fabulous lake that you can take a stroll round whilst listening to the local wildlife. Offa’s Dyke, a famous walking trail, is only a 20-minute drive, and there are plenty of other scenic walks nearby. The Royal Welsh Showground, 15 miles, has lots to offer in the way of events and shows, not forgetting the famous Royal Welsh Show in July. Elan Valley is a must see – some fabulous dams and exploring to be done here. If you want to leave the car behind, Dolau station which is part of the Heart of Wales train line is just a 10-minute walk away.
Forest View comprises of utility with microwave, sandwich maker and slow cooker. There is no conventional oven or hob. Barcud Coch has been beautifully built and crafted by the owner, it is fully detached and includes a private wood-fired hot tub already at the correct temperature on your arrival, where the moon and the stars are the background lighting, and the birds and animals provide the sound track, allowing guests to relax straight away, while enjoying the stunning surrounding views. The lodge caters primarily for two adults, however it could easily accommodate 2 adults and 2 infants if you so wish by bringing your own travel cots, bedding and towels.
