Just 4 miles is the centre of Bridgnorth, with its castle ruins, fantastic river and countryside views, two railways, one steam and one funicular railway, and a good selection of shops bars and restaurants. Shropshire has many quaint towns and villages to visit including Much Wenlock, Ironbridge, Ludlow and Shrewsbury, all are accessible within a 30-minute drive. Activity centres are dotted around the county offering anything from clay shooting, high ropes and canoeing to mountain biking and Segway and quad trekking. Nearby is also the historical National Trust Attingham Park, Wenlock Edge and Cardingmill Valley, as well as Stokesay and Ludlow castles. The Secret Hills Discovery Centre and Acton Scott Working Farm are great for children, and the glider centre on the Long Mynd and horse racing at Ludlow are also available nearby. There are Smart TVs with Netflix if you fancy a movie night. Each of the barns come with enclosed gardens and patios, with breathtaking views of the surrounding Shropshire countryside and plenty of parking for everyone. In addition to the fabulous accommodation, the owners offer you a luxury hamper and if there’s availability the children can be shown around the farm. The family have a fantastic farm shop not too far away, so that you can indulge in delicious local produce during your stay.
You are located only a 10-minute drive from the beautiful and very popular town of Shrewsbury, which is a great place to explore. Bursting with independent shops, coffee bars and restaurants and set on the banks of the River Severn, there’s plenty to see and do. Farmers markets are laid on throughout the year, and events happening all the time, it’s a must visit. Sleeping up to twelve guests, this detached Arts and Crafts home has been revived to expose the house’s original character by restoring every detail. The owners have worked tirelessly over the last three years to create a charming mixture of traditional features and stylish interiors.
Marton Hall provides an amazing stay for friends or family to celebrate a special occasion or just escape to. A spacious entrance hall greets you; the main stairway leads to the upper floor giving access to the west wing bedrooms. The property has six elegant en-suite bedrooms, each offering something unique, from feature fireplaces and antique beds to window seats. Stunning views of the grounds can be seen from all bedrooms, five of which are on the first floor and one on the ground floor. The local village of Baschurch offers a small supermarket, two pubs, and a post office, within walking distance. With Shrewsbury approximately 20 minutes’ drive away, there’s a variety of things to do making it a great day out. Shrewsbury is full of finds to be discovered by foot or boat, the River Severn is a must, as is the café culture, the castle, the old market hall featuring local artists and lovely shops and eateries. There’s a produce and farmers’ market held regularly in the square, as well as a fantastic theatre. Visit Ironbridge Gorge, home of the world’s oldest working cast-iron bridge. Ramble through the Shropshire Hills, enjoying the countryside as you go. You can also drive your own steam train or dine in style on the Severn Valley Railway. Or venture over to the iconic foodie town of Ludlow.

The Coach House is situated just outside the village of Baschurch which is near Shrewsbury and Ellesmere. Baschurch offers pubs, takeaways, churches, a large convenience store, and a cash point. The local bus, which operates between Shrewsbury and Ellesmere, collects and drops off on Springfield Barn main drive allowing guests to leave the car behind.

Shrewsbury town offers fantastic fresh dining, individual shops, craft markets, museums, art galleries, and the stunning Dingle set within the Quarry Park. From here, during summer, the Severn Valley Railway’s steam train chugs the scenic 16-mile route to Kidderminster. Attingham Park (National Trust), Benthall Hall (National Trust), Ironbridge Gorge and the old market town of Much Wenlock, with its medieval priory, are all within easy driving distance. Set next to the owner’s own property, The Roost is set in a peaceful and quiet part of the Shropshire countryside.

Surrounded by the owners’ farmland, with footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes from the doorstep, these properties are the perfect country retreat. Another popular pastime in the area is fishing, which is available for guests of the cottages on Chelmarsh Reservoir and also on the River Severn (day permits can be purchased from local fishing tackle shops). Ideally located near to the historic town of Bridgnorth and the Severn Valley railway, with RAF Cosford a short drive away, the cottages make an ideal base for touring. The Ironbridge Gorge Museum and the hills of the Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge are about 10 miles away, whilst there are many interesting walks from the door as well as numerous picturesque villages waiting to be explored.
