There are walks to be had straight from the front door and into Dyffryn woods - the woodland is approximately 260 metres high and gives some great views over Neath, The Bristol Channel and the Gower peninsula on a clear day. There is plenty to do and see from both properties; for those adrenaline junkies looking for some excitement, Bike Park Wales is approximately a 40-minute drive from the property, and Afan Forest Mountain Bike Trails are a 25-minute drive, with masses of trails for mountain bike enthusiasts.
If you tire of the mountains, you are never far from the sea either with Aberavon Beach 9 miles away, and the famous Gower Peninsula only 20 miles away. The National Show Caves for Wales are a short drive from the property and make a fantastic day out with three of the largest caves to experience. Almost directly across the road you will find Craig Y Nos Castle and the attached country park which was formally owned by opera singer Adelina Patti. If you are looking for some retail therapy the property is perfectly located only 3 miles from the historic market town of Neath and 9 miles from Swansea, both of which have traditional indoor markets. Swansea has a lovely marina and a very large beach which continues on to Mumbles where you will find an array of bistros, shops and ice cream parlous where you can try the famous Joes Ice cream. Cardiff is also easily reachable within an hour’s drive, or by train from Neath station. These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 8 guests.

This fabulous bell tent is located 2.5 miles from Abbeycwmhir in mid Wales. Set in 4 acres of the owner’s land with fabulous views of the rolling valley of Radnorshire and located on the edge of the Coes Sarnua Forest. This is the perfect place for those either wanting to explore the area on foot or bicycle or simply relax and take in the spectacular views and sounds that nature has to offer. There are wonderful scenic walks to be had from the bell tents along with cycling trails, take a walk down to the village of Abbeycwmhir which has ruins of a Cistercian abbey which was founded in 1176 and The Hall, an impressive country mansion with lovely gardens, both of which are open to the public. Route 25 will offer some great views and tracks for those cycling enthusiasts. Plenty to see and do in the area such as Elan Valley – superb walks to be had here and the Dams are a sight to see. For those wanting to travel a little further the Brecon Beacons National Park is approx. 45-minute drive, The Royal Welsh Showground is 16 miles and has events running throughout the year not to mention the Royal Welsh Show in July.

The bell tent has a king size bed with memory foam pillows, private shower and toilet, washing up area, internal wood burner, double gas hob, picnic bench, bistro table and chairs (indoors), bedside tables, solar lights (external), internal lamp powered by battery (no mains electric), battery for phone charging, no Wi-Fi (good EE 4G signal), washing up liquid, hand soap, bedding included (if dogs are staying guests will need to bring their own duvet or sleeping bag). Pillows, mattress protector and fitted sheet will be supplied. Logs and coal for the fire pit and BBQ can be purchased during your stay (advanced notice is ideal). There is no vehicle access to the tents, access by foot only on inclined, undulated short walk. Assistance with bags on arrival and departure with notification of arrival time. The Montgomeryshire countryside has an abundance of country walks and pretty villages with great pubs serving good food. From The Apartment, at Llanerchydol Hall you can join the national trail which begins on the driveway of the hall. There’s a Welshpool golf course only a ten-minute drive away. The village pub, which is known for its good food is located at the bottom of the driveway.
Just one mile away is the market town of Welshpool, offering an abundance of shops, restaurants, and cafés to explore. Or discover the nearby Powys Castle with its beautiful gardens or take a steam train ride on the narrow-gauge railway through the Banwy Valley to Llanfair Caereinion. A visit to the old county town of Montgomery is a must, with its ancient architecture and a ruined castle. Travel further into Wales to experience the majestic beauty of Snowdonia National Park or visit one of the many lovely seaside towns along the Welsh coast.
