The Bungalow sits in the quiet rural village of Aikton, set in the northern part of Cumbria. The peaceful countryside is idyllic, and perfect for friends and family to relax, catch up and enjoy the surrounding area. The property is a large detached bungalow, with two large living rooms, giving plenty of space for everyone. A spacious and well equipped dining kitchen is the central hub of the house, where hearty meals, drinks and good conversation can go on well into the evening, after which head off for a comfortable night’s sleep in the three double bedrooms, the third can also be made up into a twin if so required. Wake up revived and refreshed, two family bathrooms are available for all. Outside is surrounded by large enclosed lawned gardens, with open rural fields to the rear and side, often with livestock, and views of Skiddaw (weather permitting). For al fresco dining, the paved patio area is the place to serve up your culinary skills, however a morning coffee, a slice of toast and the gentle sound of birdsong makes it a perfect place to reflect and plan the day ahead. A bike store is also available on request via the owner, at cost. A short 5 minute walk and the 18th-century inn serves quality home cooked food and a selection of real ales. Whilst the market town of Wigton (4 miles) has a wide range of restaurants and supermarkets. If you can tear yourself away from this tranquil setting, Cumbria and the Lake District National Park is one of the most beautiful regions in the UK. The area has something to offer all visitors, from those seeking adventure, to those seeking peace and quiet. Not only is the Lake District National Park a short drive away, but from here it’s also easy to explore the great border city of Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall and Scotland. West View is a stunning, detached property in the thriving little village of Castle Carrock in the beautiful north eastern corner of Cumbria, on the edge of the North Pennines an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Completely renovated throughout 2020 West View offers simply beautiful accommodation, superbly equipped and luxuriously furnished to ensure a relaxing stay. To ensure your stay at West View is memorable make the most of the three large screen TVs, cinema room or enjoy a game of putting on the lawn. For your enjoyment and a piece of nostalgia, an antique football table, along with a record player with a collection of singles, are available. Castle Carrock is a pretty little Cumbrian village where you can sample the delights at the award winning village pub only 70 yards away, after a day exploring the area.
Castle Carrock is known for ’Cumbria’s Most Friendly Music Festival’, Music on the Marr which takes place each year at the end of July. It attracts a diverse crop of music, entertainers, artists and poets from around the world and celebrates great music and excellent entertainment for all. Only 4 miles away is Brampton a delightful little town where you will find a variety of shops, cafés and pubs. The attractions are endless in the area, however a must is a visit to Birdoswald Roman Fort on the path of the world famous Hadrian’s Wall, or Talkin Tarn where you can go boating, coarse fishing or walking. The location is ideal and central for all, with visits to the Lake District National Park, the Solway Coast, Scottish Borders and the Eden Valley within a ½ hour drive. Angerton Cottage is a delightful country cottage set in beautiful countryside yet close to the many and varied attractions the area has to offer. Refurbished in 2021 Angerton Cottage is lovingly decorated and furnished throughout, a particularly favourite room at Angerton Cottage is the living room with patio doors opening onto the garden where you can sit and enjoy the wildlife. In the winter the cosy wood burner in the living room is a joy.

With three comfortable bedrooms, a lovely kitchen and separate dining room it’s the perfect cottage for a family get together at any time of year and of course your four-legged friend is well catered for in the large, enclosed garden. From Angerton Cottage you can walk or cycle along quiet country lanes or jump in the car and you are in the heart of the Lake District National Park within half an hour where you can enjoy more strenuous hikes or just take in the delights of the lakes and mountains and the lovely towns like Keswick and Windermere.

Angerton Cottage is situated close to the border City of Carlisle, where you can visit a range of attractions including Tullie House and the impressive cathedral and Castle. A short drive will take you to the ruins of the famous Hadrian’s Wall, or why not take a drive over the border to the beautiful beaches of Dumfries and Galloway.

Town Foot Farm is a beautiful detached former Farmhouse located in the heart of the delightful small village of Hayton with Brampton and Carlisle close by.
Town Foot farm has been completely renovated in 2022 and provides a welcoming and comfortable holiday property perfect for family or friends to enjoy. The hub of the house is most definitely the elegant and stylish large sitting/dining room with comfortable sofas and ornate furnishings including the large dining table. It is the perfect room for either sitting and relaxing or enjoying a meal around the table. The kitchen with all mod cons has a breakfast table where you can sit in the morning or indeed fling open the patio doors and enjoy your morning coffee in the enclosed and private courtyard. South facing the courtyard catches the sun all day long so just perfect to start your day. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, one en-suite and one is the perfect little room for the kids. With its enclosed rear courtyard Town Foot Farmhouse welcomes dogs, the more the merrier so please just ask!
Hayton is a quiet little village with a popular village Pub which serves food at the weekends and the village is surrounded by the rolling Cumbrian countryside. Three miles away is the market town of Brampton where you will find a variety of quaint little shops and some excellent pubs and restaurants. Hayton is ideally placed to enjoy the many attractions close by, none more so than the iconic Hadrian’s Wall where you can walk stretches of this World Heritage Site.
A visit to Talkin Tarn Country Park is a great day out for all the family with its 65-acre lake set amid 120 acres of farmland and woodland, the ideal place to enjoy a walk or even try your hand at some boating on the lake. A mere half hour drive you can explore the delights of the Lake District National Park or cross the border for a scenic drive into Scotland.

Cleugh Foot is a stunning cottage, one of the original buildings on the Netherby Estate, overlooking acres of parkland along the River Esk. This distinctive pink coloured cottage has been recently renovated in 2022 and really is a wonderful bolthole for you to enjoy an amazing holiday in an amazing location.
The quality of Cleugh Foot is evident from the moment you step through the door into the beautifully designed and modern kitchen which leads onto the dining room. From the lounge, with its cosy wood burning stove, French doors open onto the gardens and give views of the stunning countryside. Whilst you have the seclusion at Cleugh Foot you are not far from an abundance of local attractions and are situated between the Lake District and Northumberland National Parks. Hadrian’s Wall is a must or for something more energetic, explore the Border Reivers Cycle Route, where you can explore the region’s fascinating history on ‘The Reivers Trail’. Cleugh Foot is only a few miles from the border over into Scotland where you can discover miles of stunning sandy beaches along the Solway Coast. There is so much to fill your days in this beautiful countryside, then come home to Cleugh Foot and relax in your hot tub while taking in the stunning sunsets! Beach 22 miles. Old Byre Cottage and Fell View Cottage are two semi-detached barn conversions having been beautifully refurbished in 2023. They nestle in the stunning Cumbrian countryside and are flooded with light from the floor-to-ceiling windows and patio doors. Both have been tastefully renovated and offer all the necessities to ensure a memorable stay. The open plan living/dining/kitchen area is modern and bright and tastefully decorated, while the bedrooms boast sumptuous beds and crisp linen. The master bedroom has an en-suite and there is a modern and sleek family bathroom as well.
Old Byre Cottage and Fell View Cottage are set amongst the rolling Cumbrian countryside on a quiet country lane, yet are only a short drive from the market towns of both Brampton and Longtown where you will find a variety of shops, cafés and pubs. Whilst set in the tranquil and beautiful Cumbrian countryside, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful regions in England, they are not far from an abundance of local attractions waiting to be explored. The Lake District National Park, the majestic Solway Coast, historic Carlisle and the Scottish Borders with Gretna Green are within easy reach.
Of course a visit to Hadrian’s Wall a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can explore the history of the wall and its dramatic landscape at over twenty fascinating sites is certainly a must. Set in a quiet, rural location, this barn conversion, adjacent to the owner’s home and set on a working beef farm, provides spacious holiday accommodation. It is full of character and charm, with original beams and exposed stonework throughout. Well-equipped, it is always warm and cosy, and has been tastefully furnished in a homely, cottage style, and also boasts a garden that looks out over lovely views. The property is set at the end of a private lane, yet Carlisle and Hadrian’s Wall are only a short drive away. There are excellent links for those wishing to explore the Lake District, Newcastle and the Scottish Borders. The market town of Brampton is 5 miles away. Rivendell is a lovely home from home situated in the small hamlet of Beaumont on the Roman Wall walk; the perfect place from which to base yourself to discover and explore this unspoilt area of Cumbria. Rivendell has been refurbished in 2023 and is delightful.
On the ground floor, the large living room is bright and spacious with French doors leading to the garden. Also on the ground floor is the dining room which opens up from the living room, a very well-equipped kitchen with all the mod cons to make your stay here enjoyable, and a cloakroom with toilet. Upstairs there are three bedrooms complemented by super comfy beds and all making the most of the lovely views out towards the Cumbrian fells in the distance. A family bathroom with spa bath and separate shower cubicle are also on the first floor.

Beaumont is a small hamlet in rural Cumbria just 4 miles west of the historic city of Carlisle and convenient for visits to Scotland, the Lake District National Park, the Solway Plain, the Pennines, Northumbria and of course the historic Hadrian’s Wall Trail is on your doorstep. There are numerous local rural walks and nature reserves in the area, including Watchtree, a great family attraction close by. If cooking is not for you on holiday, take a short stroll to Monkhill and enjoy a meal in a multi-award-winning pub. There are picnic areas close by with views of the River Eden and a children’s play area with zip wire. If you don’t want to explore far from Rivendell, there is plenty to keep you occupied close by.

Greenrigg Cottage is a peaceful retreat for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life. This former farmhouse enjoys an isolated location next to the owner’s house, high up on the Caldbeck Fells, with panoramic views in all directions. There are walks from the door immediately onto the open fells and quiet roads for cycling. The picturesque village of Caldbeck is three miles and has a pub, café and shop, or more amenities can be found in the bustling town of Keswick, 15 miles away. The cottage is both comfortably furnished in a traditional style and economically priced.
