Holly Bank enjoys stunning views, looking out across the valley to the lake and mountains, stretching from Skiddaw, Sale Fell and Lords Seat to the Borrowdale peaks. This detached bungalow has an elevated position on the outskirts of Bassenthwaite village, in the vicinity of the osprey nesting site. It has been renovated and fully refurbished, providing fabulous facilities, panoramic views from most rooms. The living room has inviting leather sofas and there is dining furniture both in the conservatory and kitchen. The games room doubles as an office space with a desk and office chair - there’s even a sofa in here. The boot room is ideal for drying off your wet dogs and boots. There are lots of beautiful walks on the doorstep, including Hadrian’s Wall a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can explore the history of the wall and its dramatic landscape at over 20 fascinating sites, as well as the coastal path (routes and directions can be provided). Due to its location on the banks of the River Eden and Solway Firth, it is a birdwatchers’ and animal enthusiasts’ paradise. From the garden or your bed you will both see and hear ducks, geese, swans and many other breeds of birds flying up and down the river onto the Solway Firth. Whilst you have the tranquillity at the property you are only minutes by car from the M6 thereby ideally placed to enjoy one of the most beautiful regions in the UK. From here you can not only enjoy the beauty of this area but also a quick drive will take you over the border into Scotland with its miles of dramatic coastline.
Whilst staying at Solway Marsh View explore the many delights of Cumbria, a must is a visit is the beauty of the Lake District National Park with its stunning mountains and lakes. Barn on the Wall is a truly special luxury barn conversion where you can sit back and immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquillity of this stunning and historic landscape. Barn on the Wall was built in the 18th Century and like many of the properties in the area was built using stones from Hadrian’s Wall.

Barn on the Wall sits on the iconic Hadrian’s Wall, a World Heritage Site, and the highest remaining piece of Hadrian’s Wall is only a short walk from Barn on the Wall. Enjoy a day exploring the area on foot. Whilst at Barn on the Wall take a walk down to Lanercost Priory where you can wander round the Priory then enjoy lunch or just a well-earned cup of tea in the tea rooms. Banks is a small Hamlet only 4 miles or so from the lovely market town of Brampton with its array of lovely little shops, restaurants, takeaways and tea rooms. A great day out for all the family is a visit to Talkin Tarn Country Park, just 2 miles from Brampton, with its 65-acre lake where you can sail, windsurf, canoe, or hire a rowing boat or even just sit all day fishing. Set amid 120 acres of farmland and woodland you can hire mountain bikes with the cycle routes taking you through beautiful countryside.
Take a drive out in the car and within 20 minutes you’ll be in the beautiful border city of Carlisle, with its array of high street shopping. Within 30 minutes you could be over the border into Scotland or in the Lake District National Park.

Town Foot Farm is a beautiful detached former Farmhouse located in the heart of the delightful small village of Hayton with Brampton and Carlisle close by.
Town Foot farm has been completely renovated in 2022 and provides a welcoming and comfortable holiday property perfect for family or friends to enjoy. The hub of the house is most definitely the elegant and stylish large sitting/dining room with comfortable sofas and ornate furnishings including the large dining table. It is the perfect room for either sitting and relaxing or enjoying a meal around the table. The kitchen with all mod cons has a breakfast table where you can sit in the morning or indeed fling open the patio doors and enjoy your morning coffee in the enclosed and private courtyard. South facing the courtyard catches the sun all day long so just perfect to start your day. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, one en-suite and one is the perfect little room for the kids. With its enclosed rear courtyard Town Foot Farmhouse welcomes dogs, the more the merrier so please just ask!
Hayton is a quiet little village with a popular village Pub which serves food at the weekends and the village is surrounded by the rolling Cumbrian countryside. Three miles away is the market town of Brampton where you will find a variety of quaint little shops and some excellent pubs and restaurants. Hayton is ideally placed to enjoy the many attractions close by, none more so than the iconic Hadrian’s Wall where you can walk stretches of this World Heritage Site.
A visit to Talkin Tarn Country Park is a great day out for all the family with its 65-acre lake set amid 120 acres of farmland and woodland, the ideal place to enjoy a walk or even try your hand at some boating on the lake. A mere half hour drive you can explore the delights of the Lake District National Park or cross the border for a scenic drive into Scotland.
