Enjoy quality family time by staying in the beautiful area of the Peak District on the owner’s working livestock farm, where there is no light pollution and a great location for stargazing at night. Carr View (Ref UK36953) is one of two holiday properties finished to an extremely high standard and the owner takes great pride in ensuring you have the perfect stay. On the ground floor you will enter into the boot room, which has a neatly placed washing machine in a cupboard, kick your boots off and enter into the beautifully designed open plan kitchen which has all you need to enjoy your self-catering holiday with the dining room which has ample seating for six guests made up of chairs and a bench. The living room is very cosy with comfy sofas and an electric wood burner to bring a wonderful sense of relaxation to the room. Upstairs are three bedrooms, all with zip and link beds that can be made into twins on request, the master bedroom has a slightly larger bed and an en-suite. The family bathroom carries the same quality as the rest of the house and has been done beautifully, with walk in shower and bath.
Outside is a garden with a patio area and lawn, perfect to watch the sun rise and set. There is also a river running through the site, and a lake giving the opportunity for some cold water wild swimming!
The helpful owners, that live on-site, are on hand should you need anything, and provide luxury towels, complimentary toiletries, a welcome pack and even a Christmas tree for holidays throughout December.
There are electric car charging points just 5 minutes away in The Anglers Rest pub car park, and just 10 minutes away in the Hope village car park.
The location of this property offers seclusion with many fantastic countryside walks from the doorstep and a National Cycle Route nearby, so you wouldn’t really need to take the car. Or alternatively, a short drive into Castleton to visit the caves or venture into nearby towns of Bakewell and Buxton. Absorb the life of a working farm in the Peak District by visiting the cows, watching the lambs play and the chickens from the dining room window. This property really is the perfect base to explore the Hope Valley region of the Peak District, and close by is garden centre with café, a pottery and bike hire. Two pubs within 1 mile.

Directly from the property you can enjoy stunning country walks in many different directions, including an ever popular hike up to the Lumsdale Falls making this the ideal base for those who enjoy the outdoors. Bring your bikes and enjoy the off road cycling tracks for those who like exploring on two wheels.

Matlock Bath is a well known resort on the River Derwent. Visit the popular Heights of Abraham cable cars, enjoy fish and chips, and numerous entertainments throughout the year. The Matlock Bath illuminations and firework display are especially popular in autumn bringing in the crowds and lighting up the sky. A little further afield, Chatsworth House and Bakewell provide a wonderful day out, exploring the local businesses that line the streets. The location and property really are second to none and the perfect place for a break at any time of the year.

With its dog friendly reputation, it makes an excellent base with traditional pubs, restaurants, coffee shops, delicatessens, butchers, and even a local supermarket. Throughout the year events are held such as the Tideswell Food Festival in May, and Well Dressings and Wakes Week in late June to early July.

There are some stunning walks through Tideswell Dale, where there is a nature reserve that leads out onto the Monsal Trail, a popular Peak District walking and cycling trail. The Limestone Way also passes through, and with it heading south can take you all the way to Rocester on the Staffordshire border, or north to the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton and Mam Tor, which is around 7 miles away. The ever popular market town of Bakewell is home to the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall, and can be reached in around 15 minutes, as can Buxton with its Pavilion Gardens and Opera House. For those thrill seekers, Matlock and its stunning cable car ride can be reached in around 30 minutes, and the UK’s biggest amusement park, Alton Towers, is around 45 minutes. This pleasant bungalow stands in lovely lawned and flowered gardens, just above the former village school where the 1817 ‘Pentrich Revolution’ began. With super views across Amber Valley to Crich Stand and the wooded hills above Matlock, it offers very comfortable, well-equipped holiday accommodation. An attraction-filled area, the Crich Tram Museum, Midland Railway Centre, Gulliver’s Kingdom are close by. Good walking and an easy drive to the White Peak, Dovedale, Bakewell and ‘Robin Hood Country’. Shops within 1 mile, pub 200 yards.

Ideally set in the heart of the Peak District, The Old School House is part of a converted Victorian school. This Grade II listed home retains much charm and character, with Gothic features, and offers spacious holiday accommodation. There is a lovely garden with sitting-out area which is accessed across the driveway, however it is not an enclosed garden. Tideswell is an attractive village with a small supermarket, butchers and fish and chip shop. The Peak District offers superb walking, cycling, climbing, charming villages and bustling towns.
