This completely renovated two bedroom chalet has been finished to a high standard, nestled away in a site just 5 minutes outside of the main town of Dartmouth. As Dartmouth can get very busy due to its popularity, it is nice to find somewhere that feels relaxing and peaceful but without being too far away from the action.
The property is suitable for couples and families looking to take a break away in the area. Upon entering Hideaway, you will see a touch of opulence throughout. From the property as a base, there are many different things to do such as visiting the Royal Naval College, Collaton fishacre and Greenway House amongst other national trust properties. There are family friendly days out such as ‘Woodlands’ theme park which is only 3 miles away or why not take the ‘Round robin’ tour taking you to a variety of local towns via different modes of transport for a full day of sightseeing. Of course there is the main town of Dartmouth itself just 2 miles away. Dartmouth has an array of shops, pubs and restaurants but the nearest of these being 0.5 miles and 1.7 miles away. This two-bedroom single storey cottage can comfortably accommodate up to six guests and forms part of a unique courtyard development of converted farm buildings with use of extensive communal gardens and its own private and enclosed south-facing garden. From here you can walk through the extensive communal gardens across fields to the River Otter.
Upon entering the holiday home, you will be welcomed into the open plan kitchen, living and dining area which feels bright and spacious. The living area has a Smart TV with Freeview and plenty of comfortable seating including a three- seater sofa and a double sofa bed which can be setup to accommodate two guests if requested. Wind down and watch a film here after a busy day exploring the coastline. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, electric hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave and the dining table and chairs provides a great space to enjoy a family meal.
The front door has four steps leading down to the fully enclosed south-facing garden which has a small lawn, garden furniture and a parasol. Discover the two cosy bedrooms, the first with a double bed and the other with twin beds. The family bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower cubicle, toilet and sink, offering the choice of a refreshing shower or a relaxing bath after a busy day exploring Devon.
The village of Colaton Raleigh has a great local shop and a fantastic pub called ‘The Otter’ which is just 200 yards away and it offers meals and a beer garden. Otterton is just one mile away with a church, shops, pub and the charming Otterton Mill and the coastal resorts of Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth are 4 miles. Nearby, Exmouth has a two-mile sandy beach and offers excellent water sports facilities including sailing, power boating, water skiing, jet skiing, wake and paddle boarding, wind or kite surfing and canoeing. Coastal and estuary cruises operate from the dock and charter boats are available for fishing trips. From November to February, the Exe Estuary is home for some 20,000 migratory birds and the red sandstone cliffs of Orcombe Point at the eastern end of the beach are designated the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast.
The beautiful, pebbled heathlands of East Devon with extensive walks, abundant wildlife, rare plants, and splendid panoramic views are only a few minutes’ drive from the property and the Southwest coastal path is nearby. Keen hikers should head to Dartmoor National Park with is just a 30-minute drive away and the quintessential East Devon coastal towns and villages of Budleigh Salterton, Beer, Branscombe, Sidmouth and Seaton are within easy reach. You’ll struggle to fit everything into one visit to Thorntree Cottage and you will certainly want to stay time and time again!

Broadshade Holiday Apartments are self-catering apartments located just a few minutes’ walk from Paignton, a seaside town making up part of the beautiful English Riviera. The harbour is just down the road with an array of bars and restaurants as well as a small convenience store for stocking up on essentials. Slightly further past the harbour is the large green and beach for a great day out. Bethany is a bright and airy bungalow with a lovely garden, making for a great self catering holiday accommodation just outside of the hustle and bustle of the town of Brixham. As you enter the property, the kitchen is to your left, fully equipped with all you could need for a comfortable stay and with side access down to the beautiful garden. The main living/dining area, which benefits a double sofa bed, overlooks the garden. There are two bedrooms; one with double bed and built in storage, as well as a twin bedroom. There is a recently refurbished shower room and a separate toilet. The garden is a lovely area full of various greenery, a great area to sit out in. Bethany is just outside of Brixham, and as a result feels peaceful and relaxing while still being within easy access of everywhere you could want to visit. Regardless of where you choose to explore during your stay here, Bethany is a great property to base yourself from.

The Shippen is a cosy but very spacious detached barn conversion in a peaceful rural location near Hartland, North Devon within easy reach of Hartland Quay, and other local beaches. The cottage is accessed via a private lane away from the main road, within the grounds of a smallholding. The cottage has a private water supply which is tested regularly according to Council regulations. There is underfloor heating on the ground floor and there are radiators upstairs. There are two bedrooms, one on the ground floor and one upstairs and there is also a single bed suitable for a child or teenager on the upstairs lobby area. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The large open plan living/dining room has plenty of comfortable seating and a wood burner which makes it cosy in the winter, and the kitchen is well equipped with an electric aga, fridge/ freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine in the downstairs bathroom. The conservatory is a real suntrap and leads out on to the lawn and patio with views over the fields. There is a woodland in front of the cottage which is idea for short walks, but please bear in mind there are chickens, ducks and geese on the premises and the garden isn’t enclosed.
The cottage is an ideal place to stay and explore this beautiful and unspoilt part of North Devon and it is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Hartland Peninsula. Hartland village is only 1.5 miles away where there are shops, several pubs and a Post Office. Hartland Quay with its beautiful, dramatic scenery is a 10 minute drive away and has a beach and a pub. There are plenty of other beaches within easy reach, both small secluded rocky ones and the large sandy beaches at Bude and Northam. There are beautiful walks around the coastal path and inland. You’ll struggle to fit everything into one visit to The Shippen and you will certainly want to stay time and time again! Beach 8 miles.

Located under 3 miles from Crackington Haven, a coastal village at the head of a cove on the Atlantic coast and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is popular with tourists, walkers, surfers and geology enthusiasts. At high tide the shoreline is mainly stony but when low you are greeted to a lovely golden sandy beach with plenty of rock pools to enjoy. And surfers, both experienced and beginners enjoy the varying tidal conditions the cove provides and with lifeguard cover from July to end of September you can relax a little bit more too! If it’s the beach you want with miles of sand, swimming and surf then you’ll be spoiled for choice in the wider area. Much of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive of this property including Boscastle, Morwenstow and stunning Tintagel, inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur. Further afield the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination too. Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited, you will want to come back to time and time again. It has something for everyone including great beaches for relaxing and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafés to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the South West Coast Path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside.
