This property is located near the popular port town of Ilfracombe and just under 3 miles from the nearest beach. It is situated on a small complex of 5 star properties, one of which the owners live in and is accessed via a private agricultural lane owned by the adjacent property. The Shippon is a four bedroom barn conversion with an open plan living space which is the hub of the property. There is a piano in the lounge. The kitchen has a fantastic island with an induction hob where real foodies can cook up a storm while chatting with other guests who can sit with a drink whilst their meal is being prepared. Outside there is a private raised garden and orchard area with countryside views, the Bristol Channel and Wales to enjoy.
The property is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ( AONB ) and 4 miles from Ilfracombe’s lovely harbour and port which dates back to the 12th century, with quality ice cream, fish and chip shops, various craft shops and art galleries to enjoy. The surrounding area has many attractions waiting to be discovered including Cairn Woodland Nature Reserve, Hillsborough and Rapperee Cove, Watermouth Bay, the South West Coast Path and for the family, Watermouth Castle and Theme Park. You can have a day out on Lundy Island, go diving or take a trip on the Ilfracombe Princess and see seals, porpoises and sea birds nesting on the cliffs. Try your hand at sea fishing on Blue Fin or take an exhilarating tour of the amazing coastline on the Ilfracombe Sea Safari or on the Hampshire Rose, a former RNLI Lifeboat.
Ilfracombe is perfectly situated to enjoy countless other North Devon attractions such as the popular Tarka Trail, Exmoor National Park 20 minutes’ drive away and the breath taking Valley of the Rocks at Lynton with its incredible sea views, rugged cliffs and amazing funicular cliff railway to Lynmouth, which opened in 1890 and is the highest and steepest entirely water powered railway in the world!
There are also numerous great pubs within walking distance 4km (plus the owners are happy to pick you up on the way home!). Sawmills in Watermouth Valley and 1675 traditional pub in Berrynarbor and stunning Sandy Cove Hotel in Combe Martin Bay which has stunning coastal views. This area plays host to world class beaches including Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Croyde – all of which are famous for their surfing and vast stretches of golden sand. Beach 2¾ miles.

They have also created covered shelters and small ponds for amphibians around the shared meadow. Guests are encouraged to use the owl observatory to enjoy the local wildlife and take advantage of the sunsets and dark skies to star gaze on clear evenings.

There are many lovely coastal villages to explore including nearby Bucks Mills, Peppercombe, Clovelly, with its donkey transport, and Hartland. Just a short drive from the secluded, dog friendly, sand and shingle beach in the tiny clifftop hamlet of Bucks Mills, one of the most beautiful villages in North Devon, a secluded hidden gem with pretty white washed cottages speckled along a wooded valley at the end of a no through road. Storage for cycles, surfboards and kayaks, and access to an outdoor water supply and a drying area, are provided at the properties to help those looking for more active holiday pursuits.

The pretty village of Woolfardisworthy (Woolsery) is just 2 miles away and has a well stocked village store and post office for your daily essentials. The beach at Westward Ho! is just 13 miles away and is renowned for its beauty. It has 2 miles of sandy beach known as the Golden Bay and is popular with surfers. The Orchard is a well presented spacious bungalow with enviable views over the River Torridge which flows past Bideford joining the Taw Estuary at Instow and out into the Atlantic. The property is accessed via a steep driveway which has ample space for several cars (in a row). Access to the bungalow is either via the steps or convenient ramp leading down to the front door and garden. Inside the accommodation is all on one level and comprises three bedrooms, 2 super kings with zip & link beds (one with an additional 2’6 pull out single and a king size. The main bedroom has an en-suite shower room and lovely river and town views and there’s a family bathroom with a bath and shower cubicle. The Smithy glamping pods are fully equipped newly built lodges in the semi-rural area of Dainton, outside of Newton abbot. Situated on the owners smallholding and with beautiful countryside views. The owners are also happy to give guided tours where they are able.
As you enter the lodge through the French doors, you find yourself in the open kitchen/living/dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven, electric hob and fridge/freezer. The living/dining area benefits from dining table and chairs, a sofa bed as additional sleeping and a TV. The bedroom contains a kingsize bed with wall mounted TV and en-suite shower room. The lodge has a lovely small decked and patio area to the front where guests can sit out and relax on the two zero-gravity garden chairs, looking out across the fields with various animals

Paignton Place is a fantastic holiday accommodation sleeping up to 6 guests in total including the sofa bed in the living room. Boasting off road parking and an enclosed rear garden including hot tub.

As you enter the property you find yourself in the entrance hallway. To your left is a superking sized bedroom and to your right is the bright and airy living/dining room. The door to the fully equipped kitchen is also on your left with French doors leading out into the enclosed rear garden, boasting projector screen and hot tub. Perfect for relaxing after a long day at the beach! There is also a bathroom located on the ground floor with full sized bath and separate shower enclosure. On the first floor is where another bedroom is located, again with superking sized bed and bathroom just across the hallway with bath and shower enclosure also.

Paignton Place is situated just outside of Paignton town, away from the hustle and bustle while still being within short driving distance of everything the town has to offer. There are nearby shops just down the road from the property and in the opposite direction a local pub/restaurant. Venture into Paignton town to experience the arcades, cinema, crazy golf, beach and pier to name just a few. Whether wanting to experience Paignton itself or explore further afield such as Torquay and Brixham, making up the beautiful English Riviera, Paignton place is a fantastic place to start. Not to mention surrounding areas such as Kingswear, Dartmouth, Teignmouth and the local city of Exeter.
