The apartment is above the old stables and has been renovated in 2021 by the owner to ensure each of their guests enjoys an extremely comfortable stay. This is the ideal holiday retreat for couples, friends, and small families to enjoy the rural surroundings of Leicestershire and the many attractions and places to visit the area has to offer. It would also make an excellent base for guests visiting friends and family in the area or working short-term locally. There are many walks and cycle routes you can explore from the front door or jump into the car and venture into the neighbouring counties and with the use of one of the stables, you can store your outdoor equipment.
The market town of Melton Mowbray is within a mile where you can find an array of shops, pubs, and restaurants. 20 minutes’ drive will take you to the breathtaking historic Belvoir Castle where you can enjoy the gardens and lakes as well as explore the castle. The magnificent 3000-acre Rutland Water can be reached in under half an hour and attracts visitors worldwide to enjoy water sports, bird watching, walking, and cycling. Take a trip aboard the Rutland Belle Cruiser, visit the famous ospreys at Egleton Nature Reserve, or browse around Barnsdale Gardens, designed by the late Geoff Hamilton. For outdoor pursuits, Twin Lakes, Sherwood Park, Rufford Country Park and Clumber Park are all well worth a day out, or you can enjoy a stroll alongside Grantham Canal with superb walks along the towpath. The market towns of Oakham, Stamford and Grantham, as well as Melton Mowbray, are all nearby, and for serious shopping, Nottingham is a must.

You can stop off at the many leisure activities including sailing, kayaking, canoeing, Aqua Park, visit the beach, take a boat trip on the Rutland Belle, go fishing, play some golf, or visit the nature reserves with lots of bird activity including the Osprey Project.

There are many charming independent shops to peruse set amongst lots of historic buildings including the Dixie School and the attractive cobbled market square. The medieval town of Market Bosworth was made famous by the War of the Roses Battle, which ended in the death of Richard III; the Battlefield Heritage Centre is located a couple of miles away. You can also visit the Battlefield Line Steam Railway running from Shackerstone via Market Bosworth to Shenton in Leicestershire. Market Bosworth Country Park, offers 80 acres of parkland and includes a lake, an arboretum and wildlife ponds. The adventure playground and open space for younger visitors makes this a great family location.
