For guests who may wish to bring a horse, the owners offer stables, a menage and horsebox storage on site, available by prior arrangement.

    Although in a rural setting, many towns and picturesque villages are within an easy drive. There is an award-winning farm shop about a 10-minute walk away, which has local produce and a licenced café. There is also a pub serving good food just under a mile away. For the outdoor enthusiast, riding, cycling or strawberry picking are all nearby, as well as a popular water sports park. Visit Moors Valley Country Park which has orienteering, cycle hire, golf, forest Segway, walking groups, canoeing, petanque and craftmaking. There is a fishing lake close by.

    The New Forest National Park provides miles of open scenic heath and woodland for walking, riding and cycling, as well as a network of footpaths and bridle paths. You can often find ponies, donkeys and cattle freely roaming. The charming town of Fordingbridge which has a host of shops, cafés and eateries, and the gentle flowing River Avon, is also nearby. Ringwood also has a good selection of shops and restaurants, and is about a 15-minute drive away. Weaver’s Lodge is convenient for road links to the cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, as well as for visiting Christchurch Harbour and the coast with Poole and Bournemouth. Beaulieu Motor Museum, New Forest Otter and Owl Park, maritime Southampton and various other tourist attractions are within easy driving distance. Beach 9 miles.     Leygreen Farmhouse is a detached house located on a country lane outside Beaulieu this beautiful building was once a B&B, but is now a lovely holiday home for friends and families to enjoy together. It offers six spacious bedrooms, five of which are en-suite and one with use of the adjacent shower room. The property has a very spacious kitchen with a breakfast bar and an Aga for you to use. There is a wonderful dining room for you to all sit down and enjoy a meal together before heading into the cosy living room with its open fire. The property has an enclosed garden with plenty of areas to sit outside to read a book, enjoy a refreshing drink or make use of the barbecue. A private chef is available by prior arrangement with the owner, at cost.
    Leygreen Farmhouse is 1-mile outside of Beaulieu, a delightful village and will be worth a visit, with adorable gift shops and tea rooms and with the Beaulieu National Motor Museum there is enough to keep everyone entertained for the day. The New Forest National Park provides plenty of opportunities including incredible walks where you will see free roaming cattle, ponies and donkeys, you can go canoeing and kayaking, cycling and there is also archery to try your hand at. At the Lymington Salt Water Baths there is a 218 yard inflatable obstacle course, hot tubs, paddle boarding, and aqua jousting. You can drive to the ferry that will take you to the stunning Isle of Wight for the day, or Bournemouth, which has been voted the UK’s best beach numerous times. Pay a visit to Hurst Castle, Exbury Gardens, the New Forest Reptile Centre, and Paultons Park with Peppa Pig World. There is so much to do nearby that the most difficult thing you will have to do during your break is deciding which activities you want to do during your stay. Beach 20 miles. It is ideally located right in the heart of The New Forest, only 200 yards from the centre of Burley, which attracts many visitors’ year round with its tea rooms, pubs, manor house, cycle hire, quaint gift shops and ice cream parlour. There is also a spa in the village where you can spend a day relaxing. Roaming ponies and cattle can often be found outside the cottage or wandering through Burley – it certainly makes a change from a traditional traffic jam!

    The unspoilt forest and heathland with wandering ponies and cattle are what makes the New Forest famous. Miles of beautiful walks are available, as is golf, or alternatively the surrounding area can be explored by car or on bicycle via the many cycle paths, where you can discover some of the appealing villages, towns, attractions, and gardens such as Lyndhurst, the sailing town of Lymington (with ferry terminal to the Isle of Wight), Beaulieu Motor Museum, Exbury Gardens and the riverside village of Bucklers Hard. The county of Hampshire itself was enjoyed by Jane Austen with her house and museum in Chawton and her resting place in Winchester Cathedral. Further afield but well worth a trip is Christchurch, Monkey World and the Tank Museum near Wool. Marwell Zoo, Peppa Pig World, ‘Go Ape’ adventure park, The Owl and Otter Park and nautical maritime history at Southampton, with retail shopping outlets, are also within easy reach. The coastline with its beaches at Bournemouth, Sandbanks and Poole is within a short drive, with golden beaches and has many popular activities such as windsurfing, boating and swimming.
