Seasalter is a popular holiday destination due to the long stretches of beach and lovely walks and cycle routes along the coast.
Thyme and Tide, renovated in 2022 to a very good standard, is the ideal property for family holidays or just chilling out with the dogs. With great original artwork, many pieces sourced locally, comfortable slouchy couches and a large dining area for entertaining. The lodge is a home from home.
The village of Seasalter can be found on the north coast of Kent, facing the Isle of Sheppey across the mouth of the River Swale. It is located five miles north of historic Canterbury, between Whitstable and Faversham.
Seasalter, as it name implies, was an important centre for the production of salt as far back as the Iron Age and it was raided by Vikings due to its prosperity. By 1086 it was recorded in the Domesday Book as belonging to the "kitchen of the Archbishop" of Canterbury. At the western end of the village on the Faversham Road the local pub is like a welcoming lighthouse as visitors approach across the flat marshes. There has been an inn there since 1642. Have some fun and enjoy a dip in the heated pool followed by a game of table tennis outside. Relax as the sun goes down and light up the barbecue for an enjoyable evening meal in this delightful sun trap. The hot tub with a waterfall feature overlooks the enclosed garden with a sheltered walled terrace, brick built gas barbecue, additional Weber coal barbecue (coals supplied) and a wood-fired pizza oven.
This elevated property sits high above the Stour Valley and has the benefits of being just a short drive to the historic city of Canterbury, as well as being surrounded by the picturesque Kent countryside, footpaths, cycle routes and a unique complex of lakes where day anglers can spend a happy day fishing. Just 20 minutes away you can be in Whitstable where you’ll find some wonderful award-winning beaches. This stunning, seaside cottage is located just 10 yards from beach, in the beautiful village of Kingsdown. Violet Cottage has been lovingly decorated and furnished to a very good standard. It appeals to many different guests including families, friends, couples and pets!

Whitstable Castle, Beach and Tankerton Slopes are a 3 minute walk away. With brilliant transport links right outside the property, you can venture further afield into Canterbury, famous for it’s incredible cathedral or a historic trip to the Roman ruins of Reculver which are only 20 minutes away. You can also visit Margate for its golden sandy beaches only 25 minutes away.

Whitstable offers good trains connections to London, also as a alternative option to visit France for the day is easily accessible with regular ferry crossing between Dover to Calais in France. The property it’s 5 minutes away driving to the whitstable station
