Nestled in a quiet residential area in the wonderful seaside town of Cleveleys, this delightful bungalow offers a perfect base just ½ mile from the main beachfront promenade. Completely refurbished in 2022, you’ll find The Bungalow beautifully maintained, with a multitude of rooms in which to relax and re-charge.
The back garden is enclosed, making this a great space to enjoy the outdoors when the weather allows, whilst indoors, each of the bedrooms features its own Smart TV, so lazy Sunday mornings are catered for.
Cleveleys has a real holiday atmosphere and is home to plenty of shops, pubs, bars and restaurants, all within easy reach from the property. As you’d expect on the seafront, you’ll find benches and pavement cafés from where you can watch the world go by, as well as fish and chip shops and ice cream parlours for those traditional holiday treats. You can jump on the tram to visit the neighbouring fishing town of Fleetwood, or the ’glitz and glamour’ of Blackpool, which needs little introduction.
For a change of scenery, why not visit the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? It will take around a 30-minute drive, or the Lake District National Park can be reached in around an hour. Coast or countryside, relaxing or exploring - however you plan to enjoy your stay, you won’t be disappointed with The Bungalow. Beach ½ mile.

Highfield Cottage can be found in a desirable rural location in the Lancashire village of Hambleton, near Poulton-le-Fylde. Detached and surrounded by stunning gardens the property boasts both the main house plus a quaint separate annex across the courtyard.
The accommodation is perfect for those special group occasions with the main house itself incredibly spacious, beautifully furnished and with a selection of living and dining rooms. The farmhouse style kitchen is equipped to cook a storm, and there’s a study for anyone needing to catch up on emails. The pièce de resistance however is its own fabulous bar area complete with darts board and full size snooker table. The first floor contains four bedrooms of which two have their own dressing rooms and en-suite facilities, and in the family bathroom you’ll find a spa bath for that extra bit of added luxury. There’s a final shower room on the ground floor and then across the court yard and up some steps is an open plan studio annex for those couples who prefer a little more privacy.
In Hambleton you’ll find a food serving pub, farm shop, grocery store and takeaway. A little further is the market town of Poulton-le-Fylde is where you’ll find plenty of shops and places to eat and drink together with a vibrant nightlife. The beautiful Fylde coast can be reached in around 15 minutes including Thornton Cleveleys with its old fashioned charm and promenade, Fleetwood with the Freeport Outlet Shopping Village and of course the razzle, dazzle, glitz and glamour of Blackpool. To name a few of the many Blackpool attractions you have the famous Tower and Ballroom, Blackpool Zoo, the Pleasure Beach, Coral Island, the Sea Life Centre and Madame Tussauds. Aside from being accessible for the coast, the location is also well-placed for exploring rural Lancashire. The Ribble Valley, Forest of Bowland AONB, the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks can all be reached around an hour. The city of Lancaster is just 16 miles away and Preston 18 miles. The Lancashire mill town of Bacup is around a 2-mile drive, and here you’ll find a comprehensive range of shops and amenities. Located on the Lancashire/Yorkshire boundary, it’s also home to Stubbylee Park which has an outdoor gym, tennis courts and an off road cycling ‘pump track’. Rawtenstall is around a 15-minute drive and boasts cobbled streets, a thriving market and local independent businesses. It has one of the best dry ski slopes in England and is also the northern point of the heritage East Lancs Railway.
The mountain bike trails of Lee and Cragg Quarry can be picked up just outside Bacup, and the surrounding countryside including the nearby Rossendale Valley is popular with walkers and hikers. Other local attractions include The Whitaker Art Gallery, the ’Singing Ringing Tree’ and the ’Halo’, Burnley and Rossendale’s panopticons, and the National Trust’s Gawthorpe Hall. Finally, the city of Manchester is around a 40-minute drive or a 30-minute direct train from Walsden or Todmorden train stations.

Further amenities can be found in the market towns of Kirkham and Poulton-Le-Fylde which are around a 15-minute drive and home to ample places to eat and drink, together with a vibrant nightlife.
The Fylde coastal resorts of Blackpool, Lytham, St Annes and Cleveleys can be reached in around a 20-minute drive and between them is much to see and do. In wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham there is a variety of bars, cafés, boutique shops and restaurants, and in St Annes you will find a beautiful sandy beach with colourful beach huts. The area is internationally famous for golf and the towns also host various events throughout the year, including the Lytham Proms and St Annes Kite Festival. Blackpool needs little introduction with its many attractions including the famous tower, Madame Tussauds Waxworks, the Sealife Centre, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Zoo. For a change of scenery the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is much loved for its stunning countryside and picturesque villages, can be reached in about half an hour. An hour’s drive can take you to the Lake District or city centres of both Manchester and Liverpool. Beach 9½ miles.

As you enter the property, you’ll find one bedroom which opens out onto the enclosed rear garden, as well as a shower room. The first floor comprises of a good-sized kitchen, and sociable living/dining room which opens onto the balcony, perfect for summer days overlooking the seafront. Cleveleys seafront is home to the Mythic Coast Artwork trail, where striking giant sculptures bring to life ’The Sea Swallow’ story. The vast beach is made up of sand and shingle, and you’ll find traditional past times of sandcastle building, and kite flying are as popular as ever. A few miles inland is the neighbouring village of Thornton, where you’ll find more shops, pubs and restaurants together with an 18th Century windmill and Wyre Estuary Country Park. The bright lights of Blackpool, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower are just 4 miles round the coast, and a few miles further you’ll reach the beautiful sandy beaches of St Annes and, wonderfully cosmopolitan, Lytham. Belmont is a wonderful detached bungalow that can be found in the small village of Hesketh Bank, just 20 minutes from the Victorian seaside resort of Southport. Bright, airy, spacious and newly renovated in 2020, it’s a wonderful base for couples and families, and their four legged friends. Hesketh Bank itself is home to ample local amenities including a high end supermarket, farm shop and takeaway. In the neighbouring village of Tarleton you’ll also find a café and a couple of pubs serving good food.

An area popular with bird watchers and nature lovers, the Ribble Estuary Natural Nature Reserve is 5,000 acres of salt marsh and is less than 3 miles away. It’s home to an impressive range of wildlife, with more than a quarter of a million migrating water birds feeding in and around the estuary. There’s also Hesketh Out Marsh, Marshside and Martin Mere Nature Reserve all easily accessible.

For lovers of the great outdoors, a network of footpaths and dedicated cycle routes radiate from the area, and in Southport you can pick up the Trans Pennine Trail. The popular seaside town of Southport has lots to offer, including 22 miles of coastline and the second longest pleasure pier in the British Isles. There are shops, bars and mouth-watering restaurants, together with traditional seaside amusements, a cinema and an indoor water park. The train station in Southport provides easy access to both Liverpool and Chester for anyone craving the bright lights and culture of a big city.

Other places of interest nearby include the National Trust’s Rufford Old Hall (10 mins) and the National Trust’s Formby, a glorious beach with dramatic sand dunes, surrounded by sweeping coastal pinewoods (40 mins). Slightly further afield, the Ribble Valley and city of Lancaster can both be reached in about an hour, and just a little bit further again is the southern Lake District National Park or the Forest of Bowland (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). The Beacon Fell Country Park consists of 271 acres of woodland, moorland and farmland. The Beacon Fell summit is 873 feet above sea level and offers spectacular views of the Forest of Bowland and Morecambe Bay. On a clear day it is even possible to see the Isle of Man. The Forest of Bowland is 23 miles away, here you will find mountain bike trail at Gisburn Forest, with green, blue, red and black routes available. Glide easily along the mellow trail by Bottoms Beck, twist and shout through Park Wood, dance with your bike down Hully Gully or grit your teeth and rush down the Bigfoot slab, everyone should find something that will make them smile.

The world renowned Tolkein Trail starts and ends in nearby Hurst Green, meaning literary enthusiasts can discover the Ribble landscape that may have inspired J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. A dog friendly pub serving food is around a 10-minute walk from the cottage. In the Ribble valley you can explore Clitheroe Castle Museum, former the Steward’s House, a Grade II listed building that was built in the 18th century and in the small town of Longridge just 8 miles away you’ll find a selection of supermarkets, cafés, takeaways, pubs serving food and even a quaint cinema.
