Beautiful, sandy, beaches are about 40 minutes away along with the traditional seaside resort of Skegness. Lincoln with its famous cathedral, medieval castle, cobbled streets, Usher Art Gallery, independent shops and restaurants is a short 40 minute drive away and is a great place for a day out. Excellent walks and cycle routes can be found from the cottage, and along with the Lincolnshire Wolds’ lovely scenery, pretty villages and small towns nearby, there is something for everyone to do. This lovely barn conversion offers ground floor accommodation for up to 4 guests. Brook House Farm Cottage is situated on the owner’s farm which boasts its own horse stud and livery yard. The cottage building dates back to 1791 and was converted in 2008 to provide comfortable, modern accommodation.
There are lovely walks straight from the door into the Lincolnshire Wolds, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and plenty of cycle routes in abundance throughout the area. Motoring enthusiasts will enjoy Cadwell Park race circuit which is about a mile away. A half hour drive away, there are great days out to be had on the east coast, with miles of walks along award winning sandy beaches and the traditional resorts of Skegness, Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe.
The Lincolnshire Wolds market towns of Louth and Horncastle are both about 7 miles away and have a good selection of shops and amenities. Horncastle is well known for its range of antique and collectables shops. Inland is the city of Lincoln, about 30-minutes drive, with its famous cathedral and castle as well as the vibrant wharf area with restaurants and cafés to relax in and watch the world go by. The nearby town of Alford is just a mile away and offers a wide variety of shops, pubs and eateries. A 15-minute drive takes you to the sandy beaches of the Lincolnshire coast and the popular coastal holiday resorts of Mablethorpe, Sutton-on-Sea and Chapel-St-Leonards.

Ingoldmells and Skegness are a little further down the coast where days out can be had at Fantasy island or Butlins. Nearby Woodthorpe has an 18-hole golf course or why not visit the Georgian market town of Louth for lots of lovely local shops and three markets a week.

Visitors can enjoy watching the seals at Donna Nook, and cycling, walking, golf, and birdwatching are all popular pastimes locally. Contrasting pleasures of family fun at Skegness and the wildlife of the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve are found 10 miles away, whilst historic Lincoln, with its soaring cathedral, cobbled streets, interesting shops, and Christmas markets, is an easy drive, as are the beautiful Wolds and their delightful market towns. Nearby is a café at Huttoft next to the beach with a viewing area where you can enjoy superb views along the coastline and inland over the fields towards the Lincolnshire Wolds.
