Wits End Cottage is close to Woodhall Spa and Horncastle, and is only 25 minutes into the city of Lincoln and about a 30-minute drive to the traditional seaside resort of Skegness. For days out by car, on foot or by bicycle, the Lincolnshire Wolds, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is close by. From the doorstep are good walks and cycle routes, and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight for WWII enthusiasts is at Coningsby, just a 15-minute drive. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

This Grade II Listed Farmhouse is situated in the centre of the village, close to the pub with large enclosed lawned gardens making it ideal for family celebrations and gatherings. For days out the traditional seaside resort of Skegness is 14 miles to the east with its sandy beaches, amusements and fun fair for all the family. To the west 5 miles away is the market town of Horncastle well known for its many antique and collectables shops, Cadwell Park Race Circuit near Louth is approx. 20 minutes drive and the City of Lincoln well known for its Cathedral and Castle is approx. 35 minutes’ drive for days out exploring the Castle area or the shopping to be found on the High Street and around the Wharf area which also benefits from many good restaurants and bars to sit outside and watch the world go by on the water. Set in the grounds of the owner’s pub which also has a touring site, this semi-detached holiday property is ideal as a touring base for exploring the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, which is next door, home to Just Jane Lancaster Bomber. The cottage is located behind the public house, but a nice distance away to keep disturbance down. Food is served in the pub every day 5-8pm, and live music and karaoke are held on a regular basis.
The traditional seaside resort of Skegness is 25 minutes away, or why not go inland to the Lincolnshire Wolds, where you can explore the Wolds villages and enjoy refreshment in the countryside pubs. The Georgian market town of Louth is about a 25 minute drive away, and Horncastle, which boasts, many antique shops is only 15 minutes away. The university city of Lincoln offers a good evening out for everyone, sampling the many excellent restaurants and bars making this a popular choice for a holiday location. Lincolnshire Showground, which hosts an array of events throughout the year, the Scampton Air show and Heritage Centre are just 20 minutes’ drive away.
