Positioned on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds these two semi-detached holiday cottages both offer a very good standard of accommodation just 4 miles from the market town of Louth and 2 miles from Cadwell Park. Situated on a quiet country lane with private parking and enclosed grounds, both cottages have views over open fields and make for an ideal spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. Louth boasts a market three days a week, as well as an excellent range of shops and facilities including a theatre, leisure centre and two 18-hole golf courses, both within 4 miles of the cottages. With appealing walks and cycle routes straight from the front door, plus numerous points of interest in the local area, including St James gothic church, Lincolnshire Wolds Railway and Cadwell Park Race Circuit to name but a few. The sandy beaches of Mablethorpe, 15 miles, and Skegness, 21 miles, both offer good days out. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Set in the peaceful village of North Somercotes on the Lincolnshire coast between Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes, this detached bungalow, situated close to the owner’s home, offers an ideal location for a relaxing holiday or a comfortable base from which to explore the area. North Somercotes is one of the larger villages in the area and has several shops, takeaways, 2 pubs, a licensed restaurant, hairdressers and beauty facilities. North Somercotes is 15 miles south of Cleethorpes, a popular holiday resort including the theme park Pleasure Island, the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway and other attractions. The village is only 8 miles from the Georgian town of Louth which still boasts 3 markets a week, with the very impressive St James Church, Hubbards Hills picnic area and beauty spot, as well as a cinema, leisure centre and many excellent restaurants and pubs. Mablethorpe, 11 miles, is only a short drive away and has sandy beaches along with all your normal seaside attractions including a fun fair and amusements. Grimsby has a Fishing Heritage Centre, as well as very good shopping facilities. Donna Nook Seal Sanctuary is within 2 miles and from late October to late December seals congregate to have their pups here (1798 pups in 2014). Seals are very close to the public viewing areas, making Donna Nook one of the most accessible sites for seeing seals breeding in the UK. It attracts 40,000 visitors a year. Good walks and cycle routes are straight from the door with fishing and golf courses all within a short drive. Riverbank cottage is a detached, comfortable family and couples retreat set on the west bank of the river Trent, ideal for those looking for a peaceful holiday or a base from which to explore this historic area. The cottage sleeps six adults and two children comfortably.
The first floor comprises of a sitting room with views overlooking the river, a family bathroom, a twin bedroom, a double room and a children’s room with a small single and a pull-out bed, only suitable for children, not adults. The ground floor benefits from a twin bedroom, a shower room with a toilet, a utility room, a TV snug and a dining kitchen. The cottage has an enclosed garden with a south-facing patio, garden furniture, barbeque, cycle store and parking for 1-2 cars accessed by an 8ft wide drive.
Although Althorpe has lost its pub there are many restaurants and eateries in the area including the excellent Ferryboat in the next village. Many shops and restaurants are available nearby, all within three miles along the A18 east.
There are many good walks and cycle routes and several golf courses only a short drive away. Interesting places to visit include Epworth, the birthplace of John Wesley founder of Methodism, the award-winning Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Normanby Hall and many wildlife and bird reserves. Lincoln, York, Beverley, Cleethorpes and Hull the 2017 City of Culture all less than an hour away.

Sunningdale Cottage is a detached, single-storey bungalow with a large garden set close to the centre and seafront in Chapel St Leonards, and is just a short walk to the beach. It makes a great base for a family holiday and is situated on a popular stretch of the east coast between the seaside towns of Skegness and Mablethorpe. A seal sanctuary, Hardy’s Animal Farm and Fantasy Island, are all within a short drive. There are fishing lakes, golf, walks and cycle routes nearby. Beach ¼ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

This cottage provides a comfy and cosy base for guests to explore this fantastic largely rural area and all its attractions and history. This Grade II listed, 300 years old, stone-built, semi-detached cottage was built 300 years ago in 1705 as a bakery serving the then highway outside which was part of the Great North Road to Scotland. The cottage is a little quirky and rustic, with quite high ceilings due to its origin as a shop. The cottage is close to the A1 Trunk Road making it easily accessible to the north and south. For those who want to use public transport, there is a bus stop just 85 yards away with buses to Grantham with its station on the East Coast London to Scotland main rail line route.
This wonderful abode is located in the village of Colsterworth, close to Isaac Newton’s home, the historic National Trust Woolsthorpe Manor and Grantham, which has a busy Saturday farmers market. Nearby there are many places of interest including castles, country houses, gardens, Rutland Water, Burghley Horse Trials and many other attractions.
