The interior is full of character and even features wooden panelling in the open plan living area where you can relax in front of the TV in one of the deep comfortable armchairs or settee. The country style kitchen offers a full range of culinary amenities and a cosy seating area with more than enough seating for three. From here a door leads out to a small patio area. Make your way to the first floor and you will find a double and single bedroom. Both of which are decorated in neutral tones and provide high end soft furnishings. A day exploring Castle Howard and the Howardian Hills is an absolute must. For a little culture you can spend time exploring the historic city of York with its cobbled streets and magnificent minster or enjoy the many independent shops, tea rooms, cafés and restaurants in Malton and Helmsley which are arguably two of Yorkshires finest town’s. Just under an hour away are the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough; perfect for the summer months or a windy winter walk along the promenade. Have a go yourself on the world cup trails, or there are tracks to suit all abilities. With over 8,000 acres of woodland with wonderful walks and nature trails, this is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. The cottage makes a great base from which to visit the North York Moors National Park, the east coast, Yorkshire Wolds and the many wonderful market towns that Yorkshire is famous for. The coast is just 6 miles away with Scarborough, Filey, Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby all being a short drive from the cottage. Beach 6½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

Seamer is ideally situated for visiting both the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Wolds. The Dalby Forest with its fantastic bike trails is close by. The village of Stillington has many amenities including several pubs, restaurants and a Post Office selling local produce and fresh meat. With a social club and a large antiques showroom there is certainly plenty to keep you busy. There are many miles of public footpaths and bridleways crisscrossing the countryside, and with the Howardian Hills only a few miles away it makes the cottages great for dogs. Stillington is also close to Thirsk, Helmsley, Harrogate and Knaresborough and has a great local bus service which will connect you to all of North Yorkshire.
The historic city of York is a must visit destination with attractions for all the family, from the famous Jorvic Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum to York’s Chocolate Story and York Minster. York’s winding streets and medieval buildings are world famous for playing host to hundreds of independent shops and restaurants. Indeed the coffee culture in York is well established with many eateries offering outside seating areas allowing you to watch the world go by. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 10 yards.
