    Ancroft is a very small rural village, it sits just 5 miles from the popular Berwick Upon Tweed, take a stroll to one of four beautiful beaches, offering water sporting opportunities, breath-taking scenery, and plenty of family excitement, you’ll truly be spoilt for choice. Enjoy a relaxing game of golf, or enrich yourself with the history of Berwick Castle, involved in many Anglo-Saxon wars, there’s plenty to uncover. Take a scenic stroll along the River Tweed before enjoying a spot of lunch in one of the many eateries on offer or take a trip to nearby Duns to discover its award-winning butcher and delicatessen, alongside being an exciting hub for racing enthusiasts with its Jim Clark Museum and the Jim Clark Rally. Also, in easy reach of Bamburgh, a stunningly attractive small village set on the Northern stretch of the Northumberland Coast. It is without doubt dominated by its magnificently striking castle that can be seen for miles around, giving the whole village a somewhat dramatic feeling. Berwick has a thriving compliment of restaurant and pubs – you may be surprised to learn that ‘Lowry’ painted many pictures of the area. This park of Northumberland is famed for the spectacular coastline beached with views of the turbulent past within close proximity. Unmissable places to visit include Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle and Chillingham Castle. Edinburgh is 60 miles away, as is Newcastle. The Cheviot Hills are close by with numerous walking routes, whilst the Scottish Border is within 5 miles and the pretty coastal village of Eyemouth is less than a 20-minute drive. If you are lucky, you might be able to see the dolphins in the harbour.
