    Coachmans Close is a wonderful cottage in the heart of the quintessential countryside in the village of Milverton. The beautiful cottage is set on a secluded road, all on one level making it perfect for families of all ages. As you enter the driveway the cottage hugs the courtyard and private garden in an L shape. Through the front door to the hallway you have the living room to your left with its parquet flooring and open fire. From here you will find the fully-equipped kitchen benefitting from a Nespresso Coffe Machine (please note guests will need to bring their own pods), with wonderful views across the fields. One of the double bedrooms has views of the courtyard and a gorgeous shower room adjacent with a large walk-in shower with a fabulous rainfall shower head. The master bedroom has French doors which open onto the courtyard. Outside the courtyard has a seating area and the winding path leads to the lawned garden and views over the fields and hills ahead. To the side of the cottage, there is a veranda which is the perfect spot to watch the sunset from and views of the countryside. There are walks in every direction directly from the front door.
    Milverton has a shop full of local produce and everything you need, as well as one gastro pub, both just a few minutes walk from the property. Further afield you have the market town of Taunton with its larger stores, restaurants and entertainment facilities such as cinema and bowling alley. For a fun day out why not spend the day riding the rails on the West Somerset Steam Railway from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead, spend a couple of hours by the sea before a leisurely chug back to base. Exmoor National Park is reachable in under 20 minutes’ drive with its miles and miles of walks, perfect for a day’s rambling. Beach 16 miles. Shop 350 yards, pub and restaurant 700 yards.

The high-end kitchen features electric hob, double ovens, built in microwave, fridge freezer, washer/dryer, and dishwasher as well as a breakfast bar, while the dining area has a large table with seating for 11 and the lounge has a Smart TV and comfortable seating.     When you arrive at The Malthouse a heavy oak door leads you into the original cart-way. From the cart-way, go down into the lower ground floor utility room, here you will find an extra fridge, washer and dryer. Also just off the original cart-way is a bedroom with a bathroom adjacent. A spacious open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is stylish and handmade with all the modern appliances you’d expect. The dining area has a large, impressive Bath stone fireplace in front of the long pine dining table. Heavy curtains and underfloor heating keep you warm in the winter months whilst stone floors, lime washed walls and ancient beams reflect its historic character.


    On the ground floor the sitting room and the garden room, both comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. The sitting room has an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, ideal on colder days. Walk through the cosy sitting room to the airy pitch-roofed garden room and enjoy views of the garden and countryside from the window seats. Climb the turret stairway to the first floor where there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms.     Grade II listed, The Malthouse is steeped in history with some parts dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries and is quirky in many ways with uneven steps and floors, all of which contribute to the character of the building. The owners just ask that you take care whilst you experience living in a historic house! The property is in an outstanding location.
