    Heysham village boasts The Royal Hotel having a sound reputation for great food with a large outdoor bar and seating area to enjoy the summer months. There’s a couple of quaint tea rooms and Glebe Gardens in the grounds of St. Peters Church overlooking the bay is worth a visit. From the village, you can also walk to Half Moon Bay, a sandy beach with grass-covered dunes and low cliffs.

    The Haven, a cosy and inviting cottage, is accessed via an external stone staircase. A small hallway leads to the elegant living room where you will find plenty of comfortable seating, an electric fire, and a Smart TV, perfect for cosy nights in after exploring the area. Across the hallway is the dining area with seating for four, as well as a sideboard with board games and a retro radio which also plays vinyl records. Discover ST Patrick’s 8th century chapel and iconic rock hewn graves on the dramatic headlands overlooking the bay. In the old centre of the village is Heysham Heritage Centre, housed in part of what was originally a long house it is an unusual example of surviving 17th century village architecture and tells the story of the village’s architecture and past industry in a series of exhibitions. Near the heritage centre there are two cafés, a quirky retro café serving a wide range of interesting cakes and lunches, and the other is known for its traditional homemade fudge.
