Along the coastline you also have the scenic villages of Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay to explore, as well as the historic seaside towns of Saltburn, Scarborough and Bridlington. Wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy a whale watching cruise, searching for seals, dolphins, and whales, which frequent the shores especially in September. Or travel further south along the coast to Bempton Cliffs where thousands of seabirds nest annually at the RSPB site.
    The coastline here is fabulous with the neighbouring villages of Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick, Staithes and Sandsend all perfect for a scenic day out all year round.     Seaton Court has a fascinating past, the hall was named after the de Seton dynasty who resided from 1130 to 1307 and whose family made allegiances with and marriages to the Scottish Royal family. Passed down through generations, before slipping into disrepair. The present owner (who is descended from one of the previous residents Sir Francis Bigod) purchased the estate in 2002 and employed a team of specialist masons and craftsmen who have been lovingly rebuilding and restoring this incredible place of local heritage. Located in private grounds on the edge of Staithes on the breathtakingly beautiful North Yorkshire Coast, surrounded by the heather clad North Yorkshire Moors.
    Stepping inside Seaton Court you enter into the hallway, where your walking boots and coats can be stored in the utility room. Through into the open plan living room with a dining area and a bespoke hand crafted kitchen looking out onto your own patio with the rolling countryside beyond. Cast your eyes up into the incredible supporting beams and the ancient hand carved masonry above the feature fire place.     The cottage is named after one of Whitby’s famous residents, the oldest known poet in England. Caedmon was an illiterate cow herder who lived in Whitby back in the medieval days. One night after a busy day tending to the cattle, he had a dream where he was singing beautifully and it filled his heart with joy. When he woke he began creating songs and poetry. The locals heard him singing and they were inspired by his incredible talent. Word spread and he became an accomplished and much admired poet.
