Nestling in the stunning Esk Valley, these holiday properties have been lovingly converted from 200 year old farm buildings and are situated just across the courtyard from the owners’ farmhouse which dates from the 12th century. Converted from a former granary, The Granary (ref W41008) occupies the first floor of a detached barn conversion, with views towards Castleton Rigg. Stylish and delightfully furnished, retaining many original features with a vaulted ceiling, low beams and solid oak floors. The Carthouse (ref W41503) is spacious and occupies the ground floor of the detached barn conversion, whilst The Byre (ref W7733) is an attractive single storey, detached property with a multi-fuel stove in the living room, and offers wonderful views over the dale. They are all tastefully furnished and decorated and offer excellent holiday accommodation. Ideally situated in the beautiful North York Moors National Park, a scenic drive along the country roads takes you to the historic port of Whitby. The area abounds with smugglers coves and quaint fishing villages untouched by the passing years. An excellent base for exploring the surrounding area, with the Yorkshire coast and Heartbeat country both easily accessible. Walking is available direct from the door, with fishing and riding nearby. Originally a fisherman’s cottage, you are tucked away from the high street in the village of Loftus, with a small stream running past the front door. The owners have taken great care in completely renovating this property at the beginning of 2022 to provide a high-quality holiday home with everything required to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Inside you have a snug living area, with cosy sofas around the TV.

Step down into the dining area which is open plan with the bespoke modern kitchen. There is a door from the kitchen leading out into the small rear yard with outdoor seating. The glorious Yorkshire coast is within 2 miles away.
Starting with Skinningrove, a peaceful beautiful beach just a 30 minute steady stroll from the cottage, is great for fossil hunting; further along the coast is gorgeous Runswick Bay, picturesque Staithes, the surfers’ paradise of Saltburn and the historic seafaring town of Whitby with its long golden beach stretching to Sandsend. For walkers there are walking trails across the national park, and within walking distance of stunning beaches, which include the Cleveland Way along the cliff tops, or Roseberry Topping which offers stunning panoramic views.
If you are fascinated by history visit Guisborough Priory and Whitby Abbey, as well as museums including Staithes Heritage Museum, Whitby’s Captain Cook Museum and Hutton le Holes Folk Museum. On the moors there are many rural villages to visit, or why not enjoy a trip on the steam train to take in the scenery.
For the adventurous there are water sports including white water rafting, sailing and paddle boarding at Tees Barrage and Scaling Dam, as well as surf schools in Saltburn, Sandsend and Whitby. In Dalby Forest you can zip wire through the treetops.

Spencer House is a delightful property located just moments from the heart of the historic city of York.
Set over three floors, you enter the property on the ground floor with the living room to your left which is a great area to relax with comfortable seating and a smart TV with Netflix and Disney+. The kitchen/dining area is well equipped for all your culinary needs along with a dining table which seats six people should you not wish to dine out in the many restaurants close by.
On the first floor, you have the master bedroom with a super kingsize bed which can be changed to twins on request. In peaceful rural surroundings, Low Hall Barn faces an enclosed paddock where you can sit out in the sunshine. The private paddock is fully enclosed with garden furniture provided. It is accessed across a quiet track which is shared by 3 neighbouring properties. There is a small patio/garden area with direct access from the property.
The exterior has changed very little over the years and appears to be a modest barn, yet when you step inside the interior is inspiring, innovative and sure to delight. This renovation has been a unique project taking many years to complete, with carefully sourced antiques as well as modern furnishings collaborating to create something really special. Each room becomes a talking point with upcycled vintage pieces having a whole new lease of life. The entrance hallway has beautiful handcrafted stairs, with wooden panelling made from the barn’s original reclaimed floorboards. Step through into the bespoke kitchen; this spacious room has its own island and is exceptionally well equipped. The adjoining living room is open plan with the dining area, with a wood burner to add to the charm. Glass doors open out from the living area giving you fabulous views out onto your paddock of wild flowers. The ground floor is complete with a toilet just off the entrance hallway, which has also been decorated beautifully. Upstairs are three incredible bedrooms, all with their own character and stylish flare. The first zip and link kingsize bedroom is a fun burst of colour, with its own en-suite shower room, whereas the master bedroom, with superking bed, is more muted with its own en suite bathroom which is the most delicious emerald green and gold. The third bedroom also has a kingsize zip and link bed, which can be made up as twin beds on request, under a beamed ceiling. There is also a family bathroom on this floor with both a freestanding bath as well as a shower. Take time to take in all of the careful attention to detail, such as the original wooden shutters on the windows.
West Ayton is a pretty village in the North York Moors National Park, with a couple of pubs serving meals as well as the convenience of a shop and garage. There are many beautiful places to visit for a day out nearby including the picture perfect village of Thornton-le-Dale, with little cafés, a chocolatier and a bakery beside a little stream, as well as the ancient market town of Pickering where you can board the North York Moors steam train. There is a host of wonderful walking trails to discover, including many at Dalby Forest which is beautiful throughout all the seasons and has a tree top zip wire trail for the more adventurous.
In around a 15-minute drive you can be at the coast, walking along the long golden stretch of sand in Scarborough, with the historic seafaring town of Whitby nearby. Whitby boasts a fascinating history, with tales of Captain Cook, smugglers, Vikings and even Dracula, ideal for a day out to remember. You also have Robin Hood’s Bay, Filey and Bempton Cliffs with glorious coastal scenery to soak up. With golf, fishing and horse riding locally there is something in the area for everyone.
