The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic castle, is less than 3 miles away with its wide expanse of golden, often empty, sandy beaches. Set on St Oswald’s Way you can do some of the walk which stretches 97 miles from Hadrian’s Wall across rolling hills and coastline taking in castles and stunning scenery and ending up at Holy Island a little further up the coast.
