Give your car a holiday too as there is much to do on foot from your front door. The local shop has a café and there are opportunities to indulge in some bistro style food or fine dining along with a good selection of wine and whisky. There are walks to suit all abilities from a gentle stroll along the loch side to more strenuous walks in the hills, and you can join the old railway route leading to Comrie. The local golf club, Sandy Lyle’s favourite small Scottish golf course, has a challenging nine hole course.

Several walks can be taken directly from the cottage; you can stroll along the old railway or venture into the surrounding mountains, both of which give you a stunning view of Loch Earn. There are ospreys on the loch and red squirrels in the nearby area, as well as deer and other wildlife. There are many golf courses to choose from the vicinity including the prestigious Gleneagles. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, and Stirling can all be reached by car within 1 hour 15 minutes.
