The lodges boast their own private hot tubs and sit in 2 acres of grounds. The original Mill Race wet area is inside the grounds, which may be wet or dry depending on the weather. Knighton is an area best known for its association with Offa’s Dyke, but due to the town being partly in Wales and partly in Shropshire, there are many nearby attractions, including, in Wales, the red kite feeding station, the Judges Lodgings, Spaceguard Centre, Elan Valley and Powys Castle. In Shropshire, nearby places include The Secret Hills Discovery Centre, Acton Scott Working Farm, Clun, Stokesay, Ludlow Castle, Ludlow Racecourse, Attingham Park and Ironbridge. This beautiful end terrace period holiday property is situated in the centre of the popular border town of Hay-on-Wye and within walking distance of its amenities. World renowned for books and bookshops and its literary festival, it also has a renovated castle, traditional markets with local produce, art galleries, antique and independent shops, great gastro pubs, restaurants and cafés. There is much on offer in the great outdoors with fishing, horse riding, cycle and canoe hire all available locally. Wonderful walking area with two long distance footpaths, namely Offa’s Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk, both with stunning scenery of the beautiful border country. Brecon, Builth Wells and the cathedral city of Hereford are all within easy driving. You’ll find a small children’s play park within walking distance as well as stunning riverside walks, close to the riverside beach, The Warren. Wernddu Fechan Bungalow is perfect for an extended family break or friends alike looking to explore this fabulous area. The property has full wheelchair access and ramp level access to the ground floor, there is a ground floor double room and walk-in shower for those with reduced mobility. A great open kitchen/dining room leads to the rear garden through French doors – perfect for al-fresco dining! There is an enclosed grassed area for the dogs to run about freely and a paddock to the side of the property (not fully enclosed). The living room is perfect for a night in or relaxing in front of the wood burner with a glass of something refreshing.
For your comfort there are digital thermostats downstairs that control the underfloor heating, with additional, separate controls for the master bedroom and hallway. Upstairs has individual thermostatic radiator valves. The patio area outside to the front of the property has glass balustrades surrounding the front of the property and to the rear is a patio area and grassed garden. The property sits within 10 acres of land.
Both Neath town centre and Swansea are easily accessible being approximately 4-5 miles from the property.
The Neath Valley in South Wales is an increasingly popular area for UK holidays. The location lends itself well to those looking to explore the diverse countryside of the area. With cycle paths and walking trails on your doorstep, there is plenty to explore.
The valley is home to some of Wales’s most impressive waterfalls, including Aberdulais, Melincourt, Pontneddfechan and Sgwd yr Eira. Impressive hills will keep you busy, head to Afan Forest Park, 20 minutes away, for hilly bike trails or Penyfan in the Brecon Beacons, which is the tallest peak in South Wales.
For family fun days out, the National Showcaves Centre for Wales at Dan yr Ogof, The National Botanic Gardens, Folly Farm, quad biking and Zip World are firm favourites in the area. Aberavon beach is 8½ miles away, or visit the famous beaches of the Gower Peninsula, The Mumbles and Swansea Bay are all within 40 minutes or less. Pendine sands, Tenby, Carmarthen, Bridgend (McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Village), Cardiff, Newport, Prince of Wales Stadium are all within an hour’s drive. The Penderyn Whisky distillery is under 30 minutes away where tours are available. Multiple local golf courses are available as is some of the best Salmon and Sewin (Seatrout) fishing in the UK on the rivers Towy, Teifi, Gwilli and Cothi, a personal ghillie can even be arranged for you. It is a perfect base for anyone wishing to fish the Golden Grove or Abercothi Estates waters. Other coarse and flyfishing lakes and reservoirs are also available. Horse riding with a local equestrian centre is also available.
All in all you could not find a more centrally located place for a holiday in South Wales.

This detached bungalow is set in the lovely village of Abbeycwmhir and is just a short drive from the larger towns of Llandrindod Wells and Rhayader which host an array of bars, shops and restaurants which guests will be able to enjoy. The area is a walker’s haven, boasting walks from the doorstep, with Glyndwr’s Way, Offa’s Dyke and Monks Trod nearby. Also very popular are mountain biking, with many forestry tracks to be enjoyed, in the nearby Coed Sarnau Forestry. The area is rich in wildlife, and visitors can experience the red kites feeding at the Kite Centre in Rhayader. Visit the Elan Valley, which has amazing dams and stunning scenery. Within half an hour is the Royal Welsh Showground at Builth Wells, or visit Llandrindod Wells, which has golf, a swimming pool, scenic lake and multiple cafes and restaurants.
This detached Bungalow enjoys lovely views of the forestry to the front of the property. There is a large driveway with parking for multiple cars. Set all on one level, the kitchen has a breakfast bar and high stools alongside being well-equipped with all the necessities needed to cook a grand meal. Bryn Teg is a spacious lodge in the heart of Mid Wales, situated near the entrance of the Caer Beris Estate. All on the ground floor, it offers a large open-plan living space; the living area has a two-seater sofa, a three-seater sofa bed, an electric wood burner, a Smart TV with Sky package and patio doors leading to the rear decked area. The dining area has a large dining table able to seat six, and the well-equipped kitchen area has a separate island with a breakfast bar. A variety of wildlife can be seen from the decked area, including red kites, rabbits and a local pheasant complete with wives. Sheep and cattle graze in the nearest field.
The setting is beautifully rural, yet only a mile away from the town of Builth Wells. The town can be reached by car or a pleasant 20 minutes’ walk across the river, past the imposing Caer Beris Hotel and then alongside the tree lined walk along the River Wye into Builth.
Activities nearby include fishing, golf, pony trekking, walking, bike trails and swimming at Builth Swimming Pool. The Royal Welsh Showground is home to the international Royal Welsh Show held in July and the spring and winter. The site also hosts dog shows and antique fairs throughout the year. Brecon Beacons National Park and spectacular Black Mountains are also within easy reach.

Brecon is just 9 miles from the property; there is plenty to do in Brecon itself, with the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh, a short distance from the property, as well as a theatre and cathedral.
