    If you can tear yourself away, the area has much to offer the visitor. There are great walks accessible nearby, through Glen Prosen and Clova or magnificent walking, bird-watching, mountain biking, and further afield, downhill skiing at Glen Shee (25 miles). Kirriemuir is just a short drive away and is perhaps most famous for being the birthplace of JM Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan. Kirriemuir is at the foot of the Angus Glens and on the perimeter of the Cairngorm National Park, and there are plenty of interesting shops and eateries in the town.
