The School House is a truly wonderful detached, Grade II listed stone built cottage situated in a rural position in the hamlet of Bradnop, less than 1 mile from the picturesque Peak District National Park. Many of the original features have been carefully retained including beams, exposed stone walls and fireplace to name but a few. The small and pretty rural hamlet of Bradnop is situated on the western edge of the Peak District National Park. Close by you will find the market town of Leek with its array of antique shops and quirky crafts. The thriving picturesque market town of Ashbourne and the spa town of Buxton are within driving distance. For families and the more adventurous, Alton Towers is only a 5 mile drive away.
Nearby you will find superb walks with Dovedale, the beautiful Manifold Valley, and the popular Manifold Cycle Track, all within easy reach. There are lots of pretty villages to explore one being Hartington where you will find tasty local cheeses in the village cheese shop, also close by there are several pubs serving fantastic home cooked food. This stunning, detached, barn conversion has been lovingly crafted to provide a beautiful holiday home for all the family. Ruthin is just 4 miles away, home to the Ruthin Craft Centre, and the former Ruthin Gaol, here you will find a great selection of eateries and individual shops in the streets radiating down the hill from the centre of town. A little further afield is Llandegla Forest with its mountain bike centre and great walks, whilst the historic city of Chester with its famous city walls, cathedral and unique shops in the Rows is well worth a visit. Betws-y-Coed, the ’Gateway to the Snowdonia National Park’, is also within easy reach and offers outdoor clothing shops and the amazing Zip World Fforest. Beach 22 miles. Set on the owners’ non-working farm in Horbling village, this detached farmhouse, with its own swimming pool and hot tub, lies in the heart of the Fens, an ideal touring base for visiting the area’s wealth of historic attractions. On the edge of Stamford stands Burleigh House, one of England’s greatest Elizabethan houses. Nearby Spalding is an attractive, Dutch-influenced town and centre of the flower-bulb industry, where the Springfields show gardens and the annual flower festival in May are popular. Tattershall Castle (NT), Belton House and Coningsby, noted for its huge one-handed church clock, and the home of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. One of the landmarks of the Fens is the octagonal lantern tower of St Botolph’s Church in Boston. Shop and good pub with food ½ mile in Billingborough, or village pub 300 yards.

There are many beautiful gardens to explore, including the world renowned Logan Botanical Gardens. The area boasts many pretty little ports like Sandhead, Portpatrick and the RSPB Scotland Mull of Galloway nature reserve where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. Alderson Mews is a lovely, terraced cottage set within the village of North Frodingham in the East Riding of Yorkshire and just a short drive from the traditional seaside resort of Hornsea. Ideal for a couple to enjoy a romantic break away at any time of year.
Entering the cottage through the rear courtyard you are greeted by the large open plan living space which is neutrally decorated and flooded with natural light, offering a large comfortable sofa, wall mounted TV and a coal-effect electric fire to keep the room nice and snug during the chilly winter months. The well-equipped kitchen is to the opposite end with all the necessary appliances and a small dining area in which to enjoy delicious home cooked meals in the evenings. Allt Du has been renovated to a very high standard in 2021 and is the perfect property for a family break away or those getting together with friends. Located in Tregaron with views of the rolling countryside, Allt Du has everything you need for that relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The Cambrian Mountains are one of the few remote areas left in southern Britain, and Tregaron lies close to this open wilderness. Although there are only a few roadways across the mountains they are acknowledged as some of the most scenic routes in Britain, where walkers and cyclists can revel in the peaceful solitude. Historic Tregaron is a ’Walkers are Welcome’ town, and the annual Walking Festival held in May is a firm favourite on the events calendar. Competitors and visitors come from all over the UK and Ireland for the annual horse trotting and carriage racing too. It is also the home to the Welsh Gold Centre, selling Celtic inspired designs.
The town is small and full of independent shops, and on the square you can find an award winning pub/restaurant, as well as a wood carving depicting Twm Siôn Cati, the legendary 17th-century ‘Robin Hood of Wales’ who is said to have used his wit and bravery to outsmart gentry and crooks alike. Cors Caron, or ‘Tregaron Bog’ as it is also known, is the largest raised bog in Britain and lies just outside the town. It is a peat bog of international importance and a nature reserve since 1955. It provides a habitat to very rare flora and fauna and is fantastic for wildlife spotting, including buzzards, peregrine falcons, harriers and iconic red kites.
The beautiful Ceredigion coastline can be reached within a 30-minute drive and offers lovely beaches (many dog friendly year round), and interesting towns and villages to visit. The university town of Aberystwyth has a historic castle, promenade and pier, plus it is home to one of Wales’ most picturesque steam train journeys through the valley over to Devil’s Bridge. Georgian harbour town Aberaeron, and the quaint fishing town of New Quay are also great. Beach 17 miles.

Antfield Farmhouse is a beautiful spacious holiday home near to the shores of Loch Ness. Situated on an amazing plot of land, the farmhouse enjoys panoramic views across pasture to woodland and mountains. The farmhouse still has some original nineteenth century dimensions.

Antfield Farmhouse sleeps ten people in total and is therefore perfect for an extended family, two families or group of friends. On entering the farmhouse, you go through the front porch door, before the large hallway. Off to the left is the main living room with open fire and large Smart TV and enjoys wonderful views of the dramatic landscape, this then leads through to the snug/playroom. To the right of the hallway is a large dining room area which looks out to the front of the house with views. Further down the hallway through a door leads to the double bedroom, then there is another small hall with a separate shower room and toilet. The kitchen has everything you’ll need to cook up a storm for family and friends and then gather round the dining table. Next to kitchen is a utility/games room with pool table and darts leading to the patio and large garden. Back to the hallway, and upstairs you reach the first-floor accommodation consisting of 4 large kingsize bedrooms all en-suite.

The garden is large, laid mostly to lawn and enjoys views in all directions. It’s very child and dog friendly, as it’s fully enclosed, you will also enjoy looking at a private small grassy paddock with horses and donkeys, but this is not for guests to go in.
