The property has the benefit of off road parking, and is accessed via pedestrian only access through the adjoining farmhouse yard.

You are greeted by a delightful cobbled cottage garden and elevated patio area with seating. Just a short walk from the centre of bustling Holmfirth, this spectacular property boasts stunning far reaching views over the valley which you can enjoy whilst soaking in the luxury of your very own hot tub. A spacious and detached cottage, set out over one level, it is surrounded by beautiful wild gardens which extend into woodland thereby offering privacy and seclusion. Set in the Holme Valley on the edge of the Peak District National Park the surrounding magnificent countryside is most familiar as the back drop to the great British sitcom ’Last of the Summer Wine’. It is perfect for walking and cycling, with keen cyclists able to recreate routes used in the Tour de Yorkshire. A 10-minute walk down hill will take you to vibrant Holmfirth, home to shops, bars, cafés and restaurants in abundance, however a word to the wise, the roads back including the driveway to the cottage are steep and not for the faint hearted. Digley Reservoir and Holmfirth Vineyard are both around a 10-minute drive from the property and further afield you’ll find attractions for all interests within easy reach. These include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Hepworth Gallery, Nostell Priory, Salts Mill, Bronte Parsonage and Harewood House, all within an hour’s drive, as are the cities of York, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.

Goosander Cottage is around ½ mile from Holme village where you’ll find a cosy pub serving food and being set in the rolling hills of the Peak District there are walks straight from the door. Keen cyclists can also recreate routes from the Tour de France 2014 including the iconic Holme Moss which is literally a stone’s throw away. Holmfirth is around 3 miles from the cottage, and anyone familiar with the TV comedy ’Last of the Summer Wine’ may recognise the area as the backdrop from this. In Holmfirth you’ll find a wide selection of cafés, bars, pubs and restaurants to suit the majority of tastes, together with a century old picture house and live music venue, and also a vineyard. Huddersfield is around 8 miles away and home to the UK’s first eco-spa, and a whole host of Peak District towns, villages and attractions are within easy reach to explore.

Situated in the very centre of the Calderdale market town of Todmorden is this beautifully presented property. Accessed via a short narrow lane a stone’s throw from Todmorden train station. As soon as you step through the gate you won’t be disappointed. You enter the property via the enclosed courtyard which catches the sun well into the evening, and into a wonderful sunroom. From Hebden Bridge a scenic drive over the moors takes you to Haworth where the splendid Parsonage Museum commemorates the famous Bronte family who lived there. With the Peak District National Park to the south, the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the north and direct train links to both Leeds and Manchester you can be assured that there’s something to keep you busy and entertained throughout your whole trip. This beautiful semi-detached, 16th-century, Grade II listed cottage can be found in the delightful Calderdale village of Warley, West Yorkshire, in a conservation area. Surrounded by stunning countryside, the cottage offers outstanding views over the stunning rural surrounding with scenic walks straight on the doorstep. There are also two pubs within walking distance. With exposed stone and wooden beams throughout the cottage you have that instant country living feel, the owners have gone to great lengths to ensure the property is a home from home.
The cottage is set over two levels, you enter into the dining room which is a lovely space to sit and have a family meal in front of the gorgeous wood burner. Halifax is also home to the unique Grade I listed Piece Hall where scenes from BBC’s Gentleman Jack were filmed, as well as Eureka! the National Children’s Museum perfect for families, and the Halifax Minster. Slightly further afield is the charming and vibrant market town of Hebden Bridge which can be reached in around a 15-minute drive, as can Haworth, most famous for its Brontë heritage. Set between the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, both can be reached in around an hour, together with the bright lights of both Manchester and York. There is also a country style pub within walking distance from the cottage which serves local ales and good old pub grub. Dating back to Roman times, Menston is on the ancient Roman Road that linked York with the garrison at Ribchester nowadays you will find a country pub just 500 yards away.

Nearby you will find the picturesque market towns of Otley and Ilkley with an abundance of restaurants, pubs, pavement cafés and independent shops that can all be easily reached. Harewood House, just 15 minutes away, is a fantastic day out offering impressive art collections, a magnificent, rare bird garden and 100 acres of exquisite gardens to explore. For Emmerdale fans, you’ll also find the set, deep within the grounds of the estate. Bolton Abbey can be reached in around a 20-minute drive and offers 30,000 acres of beautiful countryside to explore.

The charming market town of Skipton, also 20 minutes away, is home to an ancient castle, cobbled high street and colourful street market. Leeds city centre can be reached in just 20 minutes from the local train station where you can enjoy luxury shopping. Haworth village, once home to the Brontë Sisters, is another major tourist attraction in the area and can be reached in around a 30-minute drive.

These three beautiful cottages (refs UK32387, UK32388 and UK32390) can be found on the eastern edge of the Peak District National Park, in a spectacular setting overlooking Windleden Reservoir. A rural location on a working hill farm 1250ft above sea-level, you’ll be greeted on arrival by breathtaking, far reaching views over the reservoir, moorland and surrounding countryside. Warm, comfortable and full of character and charm, all three cottages feature original beams, and in pet friendly Woodland’s Clough (ref UK32387) and Shepherd’s Nook (ref UK32388), you’ll find wood burners. The location makes the perfect base for walking, rambling and cycling direct from the site. Windleden Reservoir itself is inaccessible to the public, however Winscar Reservoir just down the road is perfect for easy gentle strolls. For the more challenged walker, there’s a bridleway with spectacular views across Thurlston Moor, and you can also join the Trans Pennine Trail for yet more dramatic scenery. Alternatively you can simply relax in the peaceful surroundings and experience tranquillity, surrounded by bustling hill-breed sheep and wildlife.

Although a rural location, the picture postcard town of Holmfirth is just 4 miles down the road. Best known as the backdrop to the classic TV series ’Last of the Summer Wine’, its also home to many bars, pubs, cafés, tea rooms and shops, as well its own vineyard which offers meals, tours and wine tasting events. Cannon Hall Farm, as featured on ’Friday on the Farm’ and ’Springtime Live’. can be reached in 30 minutes, as can the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Finally, a whole host of different Peak District towns and villages are within an hour’s drive, including the spa town of Buxton, the fascinating plague village of Eyam and the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton. Holmfirth is a beautiful ‘picture postcard’ town with plenty to see and do, including pet-friendly pubs and cafés where you can enjoy a meal and a drink. Probably best known as the back drop to the long running ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ TV series, quite excitingly, fans of the show can check out iconic locations such as Sid’s Café, Nora Batty’s steps and jump on board the ‘Summerwine Magic Tour’. Keen cyclists can re-create the Holme Moss Summit Climb as seen in 2014 Tour de France, and for evening entertainment, Holmfirth Picturedrome is reported to be the North of England’s finest intimate music venue. Quite uniquely, Holmfirth is also home to its very own vineyard where you can take a tour or grab a bite to eat. Of course all of this is on the northern edge of the Peak District National Park meaning opportunities for walkers are endless.
