For serious shoppers, Meadowhall is around 20 minutes away and Holmfirth, most famous from Last of the Summer Wine can be reached in around 15 minutes. The Derwent Reservoir, once used by the Dambusters to practise low level flying, is around 45 minutes away, and for those with children, Cannon Hall Farm (famous from the Channel 5 show), Cliffe House and Wentworth Castle Gardens are both nearby.
