The picturesque High Street nurtures a wide selection of amenities, including a supermarket, award-winning butcher, traditional grocer, a micro-brewery, several quality pubs, and a variety of restaurants. Tourist highlights are the National Nature Reserve at North Meadow, home to the rare ’Snakeshead Fritillary’ flowers in the Spring and singing skylarks and the splendid 12th-century church, plus the Swindon & Cricklade Steam Railway.
For those wishing to be more active, there are plenty of opportunities locally including golf, horse riding, a gym and indoor swimming pool. The surrounding countryside makes this an ideal location for walking, running, or cycling. The Granary (ref W43949) is a spacious barn and has been restored, taking care to use many of the original features and characteristics of its original life as a granary – the beams, the grain bag pulley system and other unknown objects have been put to good use. Both The Coach House (ref 15661) and Hog Pits (ref 18961) are all on one level and have a cosy woodburner. They all have an enclosed garden with lovely views over the countryside. The chickens and pigs are a delight to watch in their free range enclosures.
