About this property

Located close to the Oxfordshire market town of Witney, Morgans Farmhouse is a glorious, detached property providing 13 guests with the perfect holiday home. Being situated on the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty makes Morgans Farmhouse ideal for a family or group of friends seeking outdoor activities, or visiting the quaint villages that adorn this glorious part of the English countryside. Comprising of the main house with 5 bedrooms, the linked granary annex with separate 6th bedroom (ideal for members of your party who may prefer a little more peace and quiet), and the amazing games room located across the courtyard: there really is something for everyone. Gather around the large dining table big enough for your entire group to enjoy a hearty breakfast and enjoy the views out over the large patio, where you could enjoy a spot of al-fresco dining on warmer summer evenings. Meals can be prepared using the range of quality appliances found in the sleek modern kitchen - including a large 'Everhot' range, American style fridge/freezer and the built-in wine chiller. The kitchen isn't cluttered with your laundry facilities - but don't worry, the washing machine and tumble dryer can be found in the adjoining, enormous utility room. If you want to relax in the evening, then you have 2 large sitting rooms, (second called the Snug) both equipped with superb log-burners (perfect for when the weather turns a little cooler): one equipped with a large, flat-screen Smart TV, and the other perfect to catch up and discuss the events of the day, or simply kick back with a good book. When the weather permits the house is surrounded by fabulous gardens for you to enjoy (there is also a large climbing frame for the younger members of your party), an enormous south facing patio for those balmy summer evenings (complete with table and chairs). (Note: The garden is fenced but not fully enclosed. Please keep an eye on children and pets due to pond and the grounds not being completely contained. If you are feeling competitive, then why not retreat to fantastic games room, complete with pool table, table football and dart board. There is even a separate sitting area with Smart TV - again perfect for the younger members of the party. When the time comes to retire for the evening, then whichever bedroom you choose you won't be disappointed. From the kitchen you have access to the granary annexe, which comprises of sitting room (equipped with yet another flat screen Smart TV) and shower room, and stairs lead to the first-floor bedroom with a kings-size and a single bed. Back in the main house, on the first floor you have 3 sumptuous bedrooms, comprising of 2 rooms with super king size beds and both with en-suite shower rooms, and a twin room, which has access to the large family bathroom also located on this floor(with both roll top bath and walk in shower). Alternatively, you may choose one of the 2 second floor bedrooms, located in the eaves, so be warned - there are low beams!! Here you have a twin room (with WC and hand basin - no shower) or the fabulous king-size bedroom , tucked into the eaves and complete with en-suite shower room. If there isn't enough at Morgans Farmhouse to keep you occupied, then venture the 3 miles into the market town of Witney, where you will find a range cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as an assortment quirky, independent shops. Approximately 7 miles north of Witney lies the beautiful town of Woodstock - spend an hour or two exploring all that this town has to offer, and then venture into the grounds of Blenheim Palace, the home of Winston Churchill, and marvel at the sheer scale and beauty of the palace and its grounds. From Morgans you also have easy access to some of the most quintessential Cotswold villages; Burford lies just 7 miles away, and both Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water can be reached in less than 30 minutes. You will begin to appreciate why The Cotswolds has become such a popular holiday destination. Morgans Farmhouse really is the perfect location for friends and families to get together.

The thriving village of Bampton lies in the Thames Valley in the southern Cotswolds, amidst beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. Bampton is one of the oldest villages in England boasting a village shop, Post Office, butcher, and traditional pubs serving good food and real ales, all set around a pretty market square a hundred yards from the cottage. Ancient customs can still be experienced with the regular morris dancing festivities, which have been enjoyed for over 600 years. Just four miles away is the riverside town of Witney, which offers many attractions including a weekly market dating back to the Middle Ages, an 18th century town hall, and Wychwood Brewery. Burford is possibly one of the most famous of the Cotswolds' locations. With its medieval bridge, old stone houses and attractive Tudor and Georgian frontages, Burford is justifiably one of the most picturesque towns in England. Often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', the town was originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon ford to be an important regional crossroads and wealthy wool town. With little changing over the centuries. Burford is now very popular with visitors, both for its beauty and history but also for it's shopping and antiques, and for the wide variety of places to eat, with restaurants, pubs and teashops. Oxford, the oldest university city in England, boasts interesting Botanical Gardens, museums and libraries, and plays host to many festivals and markets throughout the year. Enjoy a punt on the River Thames or take a boat trip on the River Cherwell. The ancestral home of Winston Churchill and the World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace is just a short drive away, where many lovely walks can be enjoyed around the landscaped parkland. With so much nearby, Bampton provides a wonderful holiday destination.
