Perfectly located in Menston, just outside of the picturesque market town Ilkley, Brookleigh Farm Cottage provides beautifully presented luxury accommodation combined with charm and character. Nestled at the bottom of a tree-lined country lane, guests may spot racehorses, who are trained nearby, while relaxing in the pretty private garden. Inside, the cottage has been lovingly refurbished to an extremely high standard with vintage wooden and porcelain flooring throughout.
Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this a perfect retreat for walkers, cyclists and ramblers, with plenty of walks, cycle paths, bridleways and established footpaths into picturesque countryside. Dating back to Roman times, Menston is on the ancient Roman Road that linked York with the garrison at Ribchester. Nowadays you will find the village dotted with a selection of local shops and country pub. Nearby you will find the picturesque market town of Ilkley with an abundance of restaurants, pubs, pavement cafés and independent shops that can all be easily reached; as can legendary Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms where afternoon tea is a must. Harewood House, just 15 minutes away, is a fantastic day out offering impressive art collections, a magnificent rare bird garden and 100 acres of exquisite gardens to explore. For Emmerdale fans, you’ll also find the Set deep within the grounds of the estate.
Bolton Abbey can be reached in around a 20-minute drive and offers 30,000 acres of beautiful countryside to explore. Further afield, such gems as Malham Cove, Ingleton Waterfalls, or the bustling market town of Skipton await and are sure not to disappoint. These three beautiful cottages (refs UK32387, UK32388 and UK32390) can be found on the eastern edge of the Peak District National Park, in a spectacular setting overlooking Windleden Reservoir. A rural location on a working hill farm 1250ft above sea-level, you’ll be greeted on arrival by breathtaking, far reaching views over the reservoir, moorland and surrounding countryside. Warm, comfortable and full of character and charm, all three cottages feature original beams, and in pet friendly Woodland’s Clough (ref UK32387) and Shepherd’s Nook (ref UK32388), you’ll find wood burners. Water’s Edge (ref UK32390) benefits from underfloor heating on the lower level and French doors with direct access to its own private patio area.

The location makes the perfect base for walking, rambling and cycling direct from the site. Windleden Reservoir itself is inaccessible to the public, however Winscar Reservoir just down the road is perfect for easy gentle strolls. For the more challenged walker, there’s a bridleway with spectacular views across Thurlston Moor, and you can also join the Trans Pennine Trail for yet more dramatic scenery. Alternatively you can simply relax in the peaceful surroundings and experience tranquillity, surrounded by bustling hill-breed sheep and wildlife.

Although a rural location, the picture postcard town of Holmfirth is just 4 miles down the road. Best known as the backdrop to the classic TV series ’Last of the Summer Wine’, its also home to many bars, pubs, cafés, tea rooms and shops, as well its own vineyard which offers meals, tours and wine tasting events. Cannon Hall Farm, as featured on ’Friday on the Farm’ and ’Springtime Live’. can be reached in 30 minutes, as can the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Finally, a whole host of different Peak District towns and villages are within an hour’s drive, including the spa town of Buxton, the fascinating plague village of Eyam and the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton. Situated in the very centre of the Calderdale market town of Todmorden is this beautifully presented property. Accessed via a short narrow lane a stone’s throw from Todmorden train station. As soon as you step through the gate you won’t be disappointed. You enter the property via the enclosed courtyard which catches the sun well into the evening, and into a wonderful sunroom. You’ll immediately find the property is jam packed full of character with each and every room stylishly decorated with a blend of beautifully coordinated colours and furnishings. The open plan living and dining space overlooks Todmorden’s’ open market on the main high street, and in the bathroom pride of place is a beautiful slipper bath. The access and steep narrow stairs mean the property isn’t suited to those with reduced mobility, however its central location and vicinity to the train station means it’s perfect for those wanting to give their cars a rest.

Loved by outdoor enthusiasts you can spend the day walking along the Rochdale Canal or taking a hike along the Pennine Way to the Stoodley Pike Monument. Just under 5 miles (or a 7-minute train journey) is the popular destination of quirky Hebden Bridge which is also home to National Trusts Hardcastle Craggs.
From Hebden Bridge a scenic drive over the moors takes you to Haworth where the splendid Parsonage Museum commemorates the famous Bronte family who lived there. With the Peak District National Park to the south, the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the north and direct train links to both Leeds and Manchester you can be assured that there’s something to keep you busy and entertained throughout your whole trip.
