In a lovely rural setting, just 5 miles from the golden sandy beaches of the north Wales coast, situated in the grounds of the owners’ working farm and equestrian property, this delightful, detached, real wood log cabin, one of two, offers comfortable accommodation with its own hot tub. This is a perfect location for families to explore, and is within easy reach of a myriad of attractions and outdoor pursuits including, golf, walking and fishing. Guests are even able to bring their own horses (by arrangement and extra cost) to explore the many delightful bridleways and have use of the outdoor ménage adjacent to the lodges. Abergele, 6 miles, is a traditional market town with a fine selection of amenities, and the city of St Asaph, with its magnificent cathedral is also close by. Beach 5 miles. To the east lies the bustling seaside market towns of Sheringham and Cromer. Here you will find great beaches, museums, golf courses, a cinema, an indoor pool and leisure complex, and so much more. Sheringham Park offers over 1,000 acres of countryside to explore and the Norfolk Broads are just 45 minutes away too. Of course, you must make time for a visit to the Thursford Collection, especially at Christmas for The Thursford Christmas Spectacular and Santa’s Magical Journey. Those visiting at Christmas time should visit Holt too, famous locally for it’s pretty festive lights.

Many walks and cycle routes for all abilities can be found here and all around the area. Converted from the old milking parlour, this single-storey cottage has been comfortably furnished to provide a delightful holiday home just for two. The property boasts its own hot tub, and the owners provide dressing gowns and slippers. Situated alongside Mark Close Farmhouse (ref 13314), The Milking Parlour is within a 15-20 minute walk from beautiful Alston, with its great pubs, cafés and shops. The town is central in the North Pennines and lies on the borders of Northumberland, Durham and Cumbria, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, referred to as ’England’s last wilderness’, and is also said to be the ’Highest Market Town in England’. The cottage occupies a fantastic position, central to the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian’s Wall, the Scottish borders and Northumberland’s coast and castles.
The property is set in an enclosed garden with panoramic views over green fields and wild fells. In the paddock next door to the cottage, there are five very friendly Alpacas. The area remains unspoiled by large traffic queues or intrusive tourism. The town has a beautiful cobbled street with public houses, mini markets, petrol stations, butchers and bakers.
Go for a ride on Alston’s narrow-gauge railway, follow Isaac’s Tea Trail or browse in the excellent gift shops. There’s fishing, riding and golf nearby, as well as Killhope and Nenthead Mining Centres. Follow some of the local ramblers on the Pennine Way. Walk over Crossfell (the highest point in the Pennines) or search for the sources of the four great rivers to which the North Pennines gives rise, the Tyne, the Wear, the Tees and the Eden.
The glorious coast and countryside of Northumberland are within travelling distance as are the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders. There are water sports at Talkin and Keilder Water. Or perhaps some retail therapy in the Metro Centre Gateshead which is only an hour away, one of Europe’s largest shopping centres with restaurants, multi-screen cinemas, playland and bowling alley. Alternatively, just stay at home and relax in front of the fire or relax in the gardens hot-tub whilst enjoying the surrounding views.
