For those wishing to explore a little further afield the magical Isle of Skye, visiting the beautiful, romantic Eilean Donan Castle on the way, or a leisurely boat trip to the Orkney Isles which offer beautiful, rugged scenery with an abundance of wildlife and many archaeological sites make great days out. Whisky lovers can visit one of the many distilleries on the famous Strathspey Whisky Trail, sampling some of the finest whiskies in Scotland. At nearby Inverness, visitors will find a wealth of historic and cultural attractions as well as good shopping, bars and restaurants. Salmon fishing, by arrangement is 1 mile. The Townhouse offers spacious and comfortable accommodation in a residential area in Inverness, 3 minutes from the city centre and the River Ness, and 10 minutes from a delicatessen, chemist, bakery and newsagent in the Crown area. It is a few minutes’ walk from the railway and coach stations and a 30-minute drive from Dalcross Airport. This centrally heated house is decorated and furnished to a very good standard. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house, and a parking permit is provided for on road parking. Excellent restaurants and a variety of pubs are within easy walking distance, and Eden Court Theatre offers a wide and diverse programme of music, drama and cinema. The leisure centre, swimming pool and tennis courts are popular and adjacent to the scenic island district of Inverness.
Inverness makes a superb base for sampling many attractions in the Highlands. Good walking, golf courses, bike trails, Nairn beach, the delights of Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal are within easy reach. Ullapool is around an hour’s drive away and the Isle of Skye is about 2 hours away by car, and slightly longer by train. The historically important Culloden battlefield, Cawdor Castle and Fort George are sights worth seeing, and the distilleries on the Whisky Trail make visitors welcome. Beach 16 miles. Willow Lodge is located just 3 miles from the village of Muir of Ord, in a rural position on the edge of a croft. The property has been designed to make the most of the location and maximise the stunning views from all the main rooms. An enclosed private deck wraps around the lodge with comfortable seating for a family of six. The main living area is open plan and contemporary with industrial light fittings, a 50 inch wall mounted Smart TV and a very well equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar. The seating is arranged to take in the views with French doors to the decking. The master bedroom also has French doors and a luxury en-suite shower room. Local activities include mountain biking, golf, fishing, horse riding, walking and hill climbing to name just a few. Take a day trip to the lovely Isle of Skye and the scenic west coast or travel further north and explore the many unspoilt beaches and coastal inlets of Caithness and Sutherland. Beach 26½ miles. There is also access to the excellent sandy beach accessible from the Lochans.

And you won’t want to miss the Newtonmore Highland Games in August, or the Hogmanay fireworks and torchlit procession! Nip along the road to Kingussie for its golf club, its shops, the remains of Ruthven Barracks or a Highland adventure by horseback.
A snowsports hub, Aviemore sits about 16 miles north, hosting a historic ceremonial stone circle, the Strathspey Steam Railway, the Craigellachie National Nature Reserve....and of course the Cairngorms ski resort! Fort William, Inverness and Ben Nevis are also within easy reach!
