And at the foot of Snowdon, Llanberis, 8 miles, boasts a lakeside and mountain railway as well as a slate museum and huge range of outdoor activities. Snowdonia’s most exciting activity is within easy reach, Zip World Velocity, is the worlds longest and fastest zip line which sees riders fly solo through the skies at over 100mph. Whilst for a more tranquil pastime, beautiful walking and cycling on peaceful country lanes is available straight from the doorstep of the cottages. Shop and pub serving food 1½ miles.

Ysgubor Uchaf (ref 29517) and Hen Ysgubor (ref 29518) are situated further up along the farm’s private lane. Hen Ysgubor is a ground floor apartment situated below Ysgubor Uchaf which is the first floor apartment. They overlook the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, just off the coastal road to Fairbourne. Both properties are close for the beautiful Mawddach Estuary footpath and coastal trail/cycle path and direct access from the farm leads down to the golden sands of Fairbourne beach or across the Victorian bridge to Barmouth.

If you wish you can just relax, enjoy a spot of fishing nearby, or the more energetic can enjoy family walks in the idyllic scenery in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Snowdonia National Park. The family run pony trekking and equestrian centre on-site is just on the north side of the farm with menage (arena) for lessons, and riders and complete beginners are catered for. Holiday stabling is available by arrangement should you wish to bring your own horse. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

Boasting a superb location between the Snowdonia National Park and the Lleyn Peninsula, this detached barn conversion is situated on the owners’ smallholding, surrounded by grazing sheep and the owners’ two very friendly donkeys. Accessed by a rough track and set amidst farmland enjoying glorious mountain panoramas and views over open fields to Cardigan Bay, the cottage has a cosy wood burner for chilly evenings. Conveniently located half way between the two very popular coastal villages of Criccieth and Porthmadog, Tyddyn Iolyn is an excellent base to explore this delightful area, with a multitude of amazing walks, fantastic cycling opportunities and a fine selection of visitor attractions nearby.
Porthmadog is the departure point for wonderful steam train journeys on the world famous Ffestiniog Railway as it winds its spectacular way through superb scenery up into the Snowdonia Mountains. The pretty Italianate village of Portmeirion, location of the cult TV series ‘The Prisoner’ is also close by. Criccieth is a pretty village watched over by a medieval castle, and boasts a lovely beach and a good selection of restaurants and shops. Set on the owners’ working beef farm, Bodrydd (ref UKC3283) is a superbly appointed detached barn conversion and is perfect for a family holidays, reunions and celebrations, whilst Hafen Deg (ref UKC3284) is a delightful, completely self-contained apartment, making an ideal retreat for two people.
The larger property, Bodrydd (ref UKC3283) boasts a truly luxurious interior, with a sumptuous living room with a baby grand piano, and a gas wood burner set into a beautiful stone inglenook fireplace. From the living room, doors lead through to a fabulous conservatory which has views across to the on-site coarse fishing lakes, open to the public. From here, French doors lead out to the spacious decked area and covered, heated plunge pool. The cottage also has a games room, where guests can hang out on a rainy day.
The location on the stunning Llyn Peninsula affords many wonderful walking opportunities, and the pretty fishing village of Aberdaron is close by with a small selection of local shops, pubs and cafés, as well as the fascinating National Trust’s visitor centre, Porth y Swnt. There are many unspoilt beaches to be found in the region, where seals and dolphins can sometimes be spotted. Lively Pwllheli, with its weekly market and larger selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, is 17 miles away, whilst the Snowdonia National Park, with its dramatic mountain scenery and exhilarating outdoor pursuits, is within easy reach. The cottage is well equipped with everything you’ll need for your break away and there’s also an enclosed front garden to relax in. You are really in the heart of all the Llyn Peninsula has to offer. There are lakes, coastal paths, fishing, bike trails, Snowdonia National Park and popular tourist towns all within easy reach, not to mention the beach a few minutes walk away.

There are many beaches to explore in the area, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Just down the road you’ll find the blue flag Dinas Dinlle Beach, with wonderful views across the bay to Anglesey. Porthdinllaen is also nearby and is home to the famous Ty Coch Inn, once voted in the top ten best beach bars in the world!

Caernarfon Castle, an imposing UNESCO World Heritage site is only a short drive away. You’re within easy reach of, Pwllheli, Criccieth and Porthmadog, home to the Welsh Highland Railway. There’s also Glasfryn park with many activities to be found here, from go-karting, archery, crazy golf, and many water sports to name a few. There’s something for all ages in this diverse region and it would certainly be a break to remember, and without a doubt you’ll want to return.

Enjoy a holiday at this charming cottage which has been carefully restored to showcase a variety of original features, including a large inglenook fireplace housing a Clearview wood burner. The Ancient Houses Commission recently dendro-chronologically dated the timbers of Hen Dy holiday cottage to be from 1550.
A very good local pub is just a mile away from the cottage on the main road. To the west, the Llyn Peninsula offers many coves, harbours and vast stretches of safe, sandy beaches. Black Rock sands is the closest. The coast path is 84 miles of diverse landscapes including open countryside, wild heath and coastal features.
