Full of character throughout once you enter Woodpecker Cottage, you’ll immediately notice the double height beamed vaulted ceiling, and spiral stairs that lead to a mezzanine bedroom. Quite uniquely within the bedroom itself includes an en-suite shower discreetly hidden behind a frosted screen. You’ll also enjoy fabulous luxury touches such as underfloor heating to the lower level, a wood burner for cosy winter evenings and externally the spacious hot tub is set beneath a superb wooden gazebo meaning you can relax and recoup no matter what the weather. Patio doors open from the open plan living space onto the spacious patio which overlooks a lake and beautiful countryside as far as the eye can see.

Located in the tiny hamlet of Whitechapel, a stone’s throw from not one but two award winning gin distilleries, one a gin school, one has a quirky gin distillery where you can call in for tastings and a cake. There’s also a local pub with great food within walking distance. The surrounding area is full of charming villages which also provide a good selection of quality restaurants, quaint tea rooms, shops and traditional pubs to accommodate most taste.

The Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covers 312 square miles and you’ll find the landscape has immense diversity with spectacular woodland, moorland and farmland to explore. You’ll find ample paths and lanes to follow direct from the door and many closer by including the popular Nicky Nook and Grizedale Valley. The summit of Beacon Fell is 266 metres above sea level and as you’d imagine offers spectacular views over the Forest of Bowland and Morecambe Bay, and on a clear day it’s even possible to see the Isle of Man. Lancaster, the Yorkshire Dales, Cumbria and the Lake District are all within easy reach for days out, and finally if you fancy a change of scenery, the Fylde Coast and popular resorts of Blackpool and Lytham St Annes.

The pretty village of Bolton-by-Bowland is just a mile away, offering two village greens and a local pub. Pendle Hill and the historical story of the Pendle Witches can be reached within 20 minutes. The Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland is fast becoming a popular gastronomic destination too, with many great pubs and restaurants serving local cuisine within a short distance from Corgill Farm Cottages. The many picturesque rural villages within the Trough of Bowland including Slaidburn, Newton and Downham, to name just a few, can all be reached within 15 minutes, and all have a village pub. The popular market town of Clitheroe, with its castle, many individual shops, bars and restaurants, is just 6¼ miles away. For cyclists, Gisburn Forest Mountain Biking Centre is only 3½ miles away and has been featured in many mountain biking books and magazines.
The beauty of this location allows visitors to explore not just Lancashire, but also the Yorkshire Dales, with the market town of Skipton, the ‘Gateway to the Dales’, located just 15 miles away. They are situated next to the owner’s working dairy farm, which has been in the family for over three generations and has been supplying fresh milk for the villagers for years. So why not sit back and relax from the comfy sofa and enjoy views over to Ingleborough all while watching the cows coming in for milking twice a day. As you arrive at the property there will even be some fresh milk for you to try!

The Bothy is a fantastic, detached holiday home, the ideal choice for those wanting a great base from which to explore the South Lake District, Arnside and Silverdale, and the Yorkshire dales. This lovingly furnished former bull shed has been renovated in 2020 and retains some of its wonderful original features, all whilst boasting the modern contemporary design one would crave in a good quality holiday home. Walking through the front door, you are met with the relaxing living area, the perfect place to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing. Leading off from the living space is a ground floor bedroom with an en-suite wet room. There is a family bathroom on the ground floor, also with a wet-room. Marrion House is set in the peaceful village of Overton, an historic fishing village, and 1 mile to Sunderland Point, surrounded by salt marshes between Lancaster and Morecambe. There are wonderful views of the Lancashire countryside and the Lake District fells in the distance.
Marrion House is a spacious bungalow offering two bedrooms and a family shower room. The property has a large living/dining space and separate, fully equipped kitchen. The back courtyard offers a sunny south facing area to enjoy all day long!
In the village there is a family-run garden centre, a church and a pub which has lots going on for the whole family. Sunderland Point is set at the mouth of the River Lune on the southern shores of Morecambe Bay. It’s remote and secretive split of land allows the chance for nature to thrive, and thus, is a perfect spot for bird watching. The popular seaside resort of Morecambe hosts many attractions from picking up the freshly caught shrimp at the daily farmers market to afternoon tea’s on the seafront, there is lots to offer. There is an abundance of fun to be had for the family including bowling, cinema and arcade centres or why not try out the quirky cafés, pubs and cocktail bars along the sea front?
The property is just a 5-minute drive from the M6 motorway making it easily accessible to the south Lake District National Park and North Yorkshire. The indoor facilities are open March-October and passes can be purchased for a small fee at the park’s reception.
If you like to be beside the seaside, Morecambe promenade is just a short walk away. It has a fantastic sandy beach, plenty of amusement centres, a cinema, shopping and lots of local eateries. The city of Lancaster is just 5 miles away with a fantastic shopping, bars and restaurants as well as the famous Lancaster Castle & Ashton Memorial.
To the north you can reach Kendal, ’The gateway to the Lakes’ in around a 25-minute drive, from there you are in the heart of the South Lakes and the Lake District National Park. Visit the famous steamers on Lake Windermere or the popular towns of Bowness, Windermere and Ambleside for a truly unique Lake District experience.

Nestled in a quiet residential area in the wonderful seaside town of Cleveleys, this delightful bungalow offers a perfect base just ½ mile from the main beachfront promenade. Completely refurbished in 2022, you’ll find The Bungalow beautifully maintained, with a multitude of rooms in which to relax and re-charge.

Located in the rural hamlet of Moss Side on the outskirts of wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham, this wonderful complex of six holiday cottages provide a perfect base for friends and family alike wanting a fabulous seaside getaway. Newly renovated in 2022 they’re set around a pretty courtyard and surrounded by superb countryside despite being just 3 miles from the coast.
There’s a variety of single and two-storey cottages all comfortably accommodating four guests, plus an additional three bedroom cottage that comes complete with hot tub. Careful thought and design has gone into each of the conversions making great use of original features where possible. Large windows have also been included to many of the open plan living arrangements to ensure a bright and airy space, and to really make the most of the countryside views.
The centre of ‘Leafy Lytham’ is less than 3 miles away, or a 4 minute train journey from Moss Side station which is around a 10 minute walk. Lytham is a lovely seaside town where you can enjoy everything from fish and chips to fine dining plus lots of coffee shops. It’s famed for its iconic ‘Windmill on the Green’, as well as the annual Lytham Festival and Lytham Proms. A direct train service will also take you to neighbouring St Annes in 10 minutes where you’ll find a huge beautiful sandy beach, and then in 20 minutes you’ll reach Blackpool. Blackpool is home to a massive amount of tourist attractions including Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower, the Sandcastle Water Park, SEA LIFE Blackpool and of course the annual illuminations light show.
For any golfers, there’s plenty of championship courses in the area and the reeds and marshes of the Ribble Estuary are popular with birdwatchers and wildlife lovers. Swapping the coast once more for countryside, slightly further afield the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the South Lakes can be reached within an hour. Beach 5 miles.
