Broom House is a wonderful, spacious, detached house with the convenience of a downstairs shower room, overlooking the grounds of Peasholm Park and makes a great base for a family holiday. It has a courtyard to the rear, a lawned garden to the front and sides, both enclosed, and is adjacent to the owners’ home. Two dogs are also welcome.

The property is situated within a short stroll down to the north bay beach or to the popular waterpark with a fun splash pool and wave machine. It is also just across the road from the wonderful Peasholm Park, one of the main attractions of Scarborough, with beautiful gardens and a boating lake. You can hire rowing boats or pedalos, and in the summer months, the lake plays host to a miniature naval warfare battle on the lake, enjoyed by many children of all ages over the years.

The town centre is just a mile away with some excellent bars, restaurants, cafés and shops, as well as the Stephen Joseph Theatre, home to most of Alan Aykbourn’s premiers and well worth visiting. Scarborough boasts two bays, the North Bay and the South Bay, separated by the castle perched on the headland. The Marine Drive runs all the way along both the bays making it a great place for a long leisurely walk along the seafront. The North Bay is the quieter of the two, whereas the South Bay has the traditional seasides amusements, donkey rides and fun fair.

Scarborough is a great base from which to visit the rest of the east coast with Whitby, Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay to the north, and Bridlington and Filey with its award winning beach to the south. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is a short drive where you can view all the migrating seabirds especially the ever popular puffins. Scarborough has an excellent train service and you can catch direct trains to the medieval city of York, or it’s just an hour’s drive by car. York is voted every year as one of the top 10 cities to visit in the UK. Beach 500 yards. Shop 150 yards, pub 500 yards and restaurant 250 yards.

The owner has created a well equipped holiday ‘home’ with very high standard décor and furnishings. It is situated in the pretty village of Seamer, just 4 miles from the seaside town of Scarborough. The village has local pubs that serve traditional pub food and fine dining. There’s a small supermarket and post office as well as a fish and chip shop, all within walking distance. For those of you who enjoy bird watching there’s the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs where you can view thousands of migrating seabirds from the cliff top viewing points. People travel from all over to watch the comical puffins. The cyclists amongst you can enjoy some of the routes from the Tour de Yorkshire, as well as the wonderful Dalby Forest, home to miles and miles of mountain bike tracks. With over 8,000 acres of woodland pathways there’s plenty of woodland walks to enjoy, as well as the Cleveland Way. Aysgarth Lodge provides an excellent base to enjoy a golf tour of the North East Coast or play in the historic Scarborough golf week.
Yorkshire is famous for its market towns, Pickering, Malton, Beverley and Driffield are all a short drive from Aysgarth Lodge. In the village you will find a supermarket, post office, traditional pub, bistro pub, fish and chip shop and a church 100-400 yards. There is a garden centre. 10-15 minute flat walk which has a lovely café. Supermarket and fast food outlets within a 5 minute drive, all in the same place. You should not be disappointed with your stay as there’s something for all age groups and tastes. Beach 4½ miles. Shop 250 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
