About this property

ADDITIONAL COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS INCLUDE THE WHOLE COTTAGE IS DISINFECTED USING A FOGGING MACHINE IN BETWEEN GUESTS. Please see below for further details. This superb detached property, sits in the small village of Hawsker, midway between Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. Lying on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, it provides wonderful opportunities for exploring the dramatic heritage coastline and the breathtaking surrounding countryside. With a high standard of comfort throughout, the cottage has been tastefully furnished and decorated, which will charm the most discerning guest. There are three bedrooms with quality beds; one with an en-suite shower room as well as a family bathroom, while downstairs has an additional useful cloakroom. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing family meals, whilst the separate dining room enables everyone to sit together and linger over an evening meal. The warm and welcoming, spacious sitting room has a cosy 'living flame' gas fire, comfy squashy sofas, with games, DVDs and superfast broadband - enough to keep young and old happy on a rainy day! Outside, you can enjoy a morning coffee in the small enclosed garden, before heading out for the day. A minute's walk away is a friendly local inn, which serves real ales and good food and a regular bus service runs through the village, if you fancy leaving your car behind. Just along the road is the well-known Cinder Track, a disused railway line, twenty three miles long, for walkers, cyclists and your four legged friends! An enjoyable walk of 2.5 miles brings you to the ancient smugglers village of Robin Hood's Bay, with its sandy cove, rock pools and fossil hunting opportunities. Just over 2 miles in the other direction is Whitby with its famous Abbey, reached by the 199 steps. Saunter round the winding streets and hidden alleys, partake in afternoon tea in one of the quaint cafes, or visit the Captain Cook's Museum, there is plenty to occupy all. With the spectacular moorland on the doorstep and pretty inland villages and market towns, Avon Croft is the perfect base for an excellent holiday, at any time of the year.
