Come and uncover the delights of Old Stables Cottage, set within a beautiful wooded valley and within a small cluster of cottages in what was once the grounds of Noyadd Trefawr, a grand gentry mansion. Dating back to the 1600s, this delightful Grade II lsited chocolate box cottage was once the stables for the mansion house. This traditional cottage is bursting with charm and character with original wooden beams, exposed Welsh slate walls, stable doors, vaulted ceilings and wooden floor. As you enter through the stable doors you will immerse yourself in the delights of this fantastic property, the large open plan kitchen and living area is a great social space and finished to a high standard throughout. The spacious hand crafted wooden kitchen is well-equipped and the cosy living room has been lovingly furnished with focal wood burner, perfect to enjoy a good movie with a glass of wine. Each bedroom has been elegantly finished to a very high standard with a good night’s sleep in mind. The enclosed garden includes a large built in barbecue, perfect for those balmy summer days, and with plenty of seating for all your family to enjoy.

Set near the small hamlet of Ponthirwaun and close to the historic market town of Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn, where you can find a plethora of restaurants, shops and a theatre. A visit to Cenarth Falls really is not to be missed and around a 5-minute drive, if timed well, you can see the salmon leaping up the falls which really is a fantastic sight. Nearby is the Welsh Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran, which runs along the banks of the River Teifi, made famous for coracle fishing.

Locally there is a host of beaches to discover with Aberporth, Poppit Sands and Mwnt beach all within a 30-minute drive and perfect for fishing, kayaking and canoeing. Take a walk along some of the 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park footpath, just waiting to be enjoyed, and runs from Cardigan through to Amroth in the south. Try your hand at coasteering, surfing or paddle boarding, or take a boat trip to observe the dolphins and other wildlife. In a rural setting, but less than 5 miles east of the seaside town of Aberystwyth, and with beautiful views of the Rheidol Valley, Maesbangor Farmhouse is a large property with lots of room to spread out. Previously two homes, but now combined into one, this spacious semi-detached house offers seven bedrooms sleeping up to 14 guests.

The imposing front of the house looks across the valley, and the front garden even boasts a hot tub where you can relax and take in the view. Also on this side of the house you’ll find kitchen number two; smaller than the first but still well-equipped. There are two staircases that lead to the first floor, one leading to four bedrooms, all en-suite, and the other leading to three further bedrooms, one of which is en-suite, and a family bathroom. This is the perfect location for a family holiday, or a break with a group of friends.

Imagine yourself sitting on the the sandy beach overlooking Cardigan Bay, watching dolphins, or perhaps exploring one of the many market towns in the surrounding area. The Victorian resort of Aberystwyth, with its electric cliff railway, promenade and pier, is close by, as is the compelling Cambrian Mountains, dotted with hill sheep farms, forest and lakeland. Take a meandering train ride on what was once a working link between the local lead mines and the harbour; the Vale of Rheidol Railway now runs a steam train service through the Rheidol Valley to Devil’s Bridge, where you can see the famous Mynach Falls, Devil’s Punch Bowl and Jacob’s Ladder. When you’re done with exploring for the day, come back and relax at Maesbangor Farmhouse or visit the gastro pub, situated within half a mile of the house. Beach 6 miles. There is also a Dutch barn to the rear where bikes can be stored; also housing an undercover washing line, ideal for drying out those coats should the weather take a turn for the worse! The path from the gardens through the wooded area joins up with the main coastal path which is a 15 minute walk directly to the dog friendly Aberporth beach just 1 mile away; you may even see wallabies and emus along the path. If you fancy adventuring out, there are a number of beaches only a short drive away, including Penbryn, Tresaith, Mwnt, Llangranog and Poppit Sands. Staying local, you’ll have a selection of amenities, including a choice of takeaways, a shop, and dog friendly café and pub within walking distance. Bird watching, hiking and star-gazing opportunities can be found right outside the doorstep. Welshouse enjoys open plan living on the ground floor, with a kitchen, dining area and living area with a focal wood burner. There are French doors opening onto your private patio and enclosed garden, with views over the lush green meadows and grazing sheep and cows. The picturesque hamlet of Henllan, with the Teifi Valley Railway, scenic valley views and ancient woodlands walk next to river rapids is close by. The town of Newcastle Emlyn is a 6-minute drive away, offers a plethora of shops, restaurants, antique shops, with the famous salmon River Teifi meandering through the town and around the ruined castle. there is a pretty park alongside the river to walk. Within a 15-30 mins drive are several beautiful beaches and horseshoe coves such as Penbryn, with woodlands, waterfall and stream and Tresaith with waterfall on the beach, the coastal village of Aberporth, quaint Llangranog and picturesque resort of New Quay, famous for its dolphin spotting from its harbour. You can take wildlife spotting boat trips from here. From any of these beaches you can start walking along the magnificant Heritage coastline and find tucked away beaches.
Other attractions are a visit to the picturesque Georgian coastal village of Aberaeron, with attractive harbour and a wide choice of pubs, restaurants and individual shops, the National Wool Museum, Cenarth Falls and National Coracle Centre, with boardwalk-way alongside the rapids. Also Llandysul river rapids with outdoor activities centre. The market town of Cardigan is nearby, with several art galleries, individual shops, and a beautiful castle and an opportunity for boat trips down the estuary. Close to Cardigan is the beautiful village of St Dogmaels with abbey ruins and just around the corner the stunning beach of Poppit Sands. Cardigan Bay enjoys a rich marine environment throughout the year, with bottlenose dolphins, harbour porpoise, Atlantic grey seals, and a variety of birdlife to be spotted.

Y Beudy has been renovated to a high standard in 2023, and lies in the grounds of a riding school in the fabulous countryside of Capel Bangor. There are direct walks to be had from every direction from this property – perfect for those who enjoy walking and cycling. If you wish to bring your horse then stabling is available directly through the owner.
The property benefits from a lovely open plan living space with a kitchen/dining room and living area with smart TV, electric wood burner and sofa bed. On the first floor are two double bedrooms with zip and link beds, which can be turned into single beds, and both bedrooms have their own en-suite. The kitchen has a stable door leading to the rear enclosed garden – simply sit and enjoy the sounds of the wildlife, for an extra treat the steam train runs directly past the back garden in the daytime – it’s just a fabulous sight to see, make sure you wave to the passengers going by!
If you’re a lover of horses then this is the place to be, and iding lessons and hacks can be arranged via the owner. it is also a great area for those with dogs as plenty of long walks to be had from the property; there is also fishing available at the property.
