Those interested in WWII can visit the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre, both only a short drive away. There are numerous golf courses nearby including the National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa. Rutland Water also offers various water sports throughout the year, and the circular track around the reservoir provides walking and cycling for all ages with bikes available for hire on-site. Honeysuckle Cottage is a luxury barn conversion set on the edge of the pretty village of Oasby. It is part of the owner’s grass and arable farm and they have a great interest in wildlife and conservation. All visitors are welcome to access all the farm. It is an ideal base from which to explore the area. Numerous walks and cycle routes are close at hand and a lovely country pub, with fine real ales and delicious food, is only a 5-minute stroll away.

For those wishing to explore further afield, Stamford, Lincoln, Newark and Uppingham offer castles, museums, antique centres and numerous pubs and restaurants. Those interested in WWII can visit the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Coningsby, and the newly completed Bomber Command at Lincoln.

Rutland Water offers various water sports throughout the year, and the circular track around the reservoir provides easy walking and cycling for all ages, with bikes available for hire. Oasby is also home to the British Eventing Oasby Horse Trials, which takes place twice a year on the farm, attracting world class riders to the event.

Shops are available 3 miles away, and there are several pubs in the locality offering a range of meals. The owners are happy for visitors to the cottage to bring their horses and/or ponies. We can provide grazing and plenty of maps for horse riding.

Set in the countryside 9 miles from Grantham this lovely detached bungalow is a gardener’s dream, with extensive gardens to enjoy also benefits from open fields to the front and rear. Ideal as a touring base with Grantham, Belvoir Castle, Stamford, home of the famous Burghley Horse Trials, and the city of Lincoln, with its cathedral and castle all a comfortable drive away for days out. Travel inland to Rutland Water or to the east, the coastline of Norfolk is about an hour away. For more local days out the National Trust site at Belton, famous for its house and deer park. Cyclists and walkers will love the area with great walks and cycling down the country lanes straight from the door, or spend time in the beautiful gardens and watch the abundance of visiting wildlife and birds. So much to see and do in this undiscovered part of Lincolnshire, there are good country pubs throughout the area for food and drink, local award winning Butchers, Fish Merchants and supermarkets deliver to the door, so simply sit back in the spacious sun room, relax and enjoy the view. Fletland Holiday Hamlet enjoys an enviable position alongside the River Glen, with each property having its own private patio to enjoy overlooking the river and the grazing horses and llamas in the fields. Situated just 9 miles from the centre of Stamford, the home of the World-Famous Burghley Horse Trials, and 11 miles from Peterborough, this is also an excellent touring base with the area boasting many good country pubs and tea rooms on your travels for refreshment with good walks and cycle routes from your door. The nearby village of Baston has a shop and pub serving good food with Market Deeping just 3.5 miles away for more shops and amenities.

The Sanctuary is a beautiful barn conversion which offers a comfortable stay in the Medieval hamlet of Burton Pedwardine, which can trace its history back to before the Norman Conquest and is mentioned in The Domesday Book. The characterful property is set on the owners’ sheep sanctuary and has been stylishly decorated and furnished with a unique flourish (the owners are artists), giving a relaxing home-from-home feeling.
The Sanctuary offers a luxury holiday retreat whilst being ideally located to explore all that Lincolnshire has to offer. The locale is steeped in history and the land is the predominant site of the original medieval village complete with an 11 meter deep well, the village pond and the old road running diagonally across. The Sanctuary is built with salvaged materials from outbuildings which once stood adjacent to the main house and on part of the old village green. The owners built a barn-style property with a double-height ceiling and the slate roof was salvaged from the nearby Victorian Schoolhouse.The property is entered directly into the bright and spacious living area. There is a cosy sitting area which boasts a stunning wood burner providing additional heat and charm along with a Smart TV ideal for kicking back and relaxing in comfort. In the same open-plan space, there is a warm dining area which seats six and a coffee/tea station on the way to the well-equipped, well-presented kitchen with plenty of space for food preparation should you not wish to dine at the many eateries close by. On the same floor is a lovely bathroom with a generous shower. Through the bi-fold doors from the living area, there is a gorgeous patio area leading on to the property’s private, enclosed garden, surrounded by stunning views giving you a great place to sit out and relax in the summer months whilst enjoying a glass of fizz, or simply taking in the fresh morning air to the sound of sheep and chickens with your coffee.
There are three good-sized bedrooms one on the ground floor and two on the first floor. The ground floor bedroom has a generous kingsize bed. One of the bedrooms on the first floor has en-suite facilities and another king-size bed. The third bedroom is the largest with a super kingsize zip and link bed, small sitting area, TV and dressing table. The upper bedrooms have air conditioning. All bedrooms have fresh cotton linen, guaranteeing a perfect night’s sleep and guests are provided with soft, quality towels.
Heckington is two miles away with a train station for trips to the East Coast with its many beaches and nature reserves. Heckington has three pubs, an independent brewery within the eight-sailed windmill, a Co-op, greengrocers, takeaways and cafés (there is a WONDERFUL coffee shop on the high street and an award-winning chip shop). Heckington also plays host to the largest village country show in the UK. Situated just six miles away is the town of Sleaford which has plenty of independent shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs.
There is also The Hub, a national centre for art and design and a theatre, plus historical attractions. Within a 40-minute drive are Lincoln, Grantham and Newark with their castles and cathedrals. Just a half hour away is Woodhall Spa which has the headquarters of the National Golf Union, two golf courses and an academy. Locally, there are lovely walks through the surrounding countryside and cycle routes straight from your accommodation with an abundance of wildlife which surrounds the property. Lincolnshire Cycle Trail runs through the village. Cyclists around here are made of serious stuff; however, local roads are largely level and easy for novices. The fantastic Lincolnshire Wolds National Park is also easily accessible with plenty of scenic walks and cycle trails.

Lakeside Retreats enjoys a peaceful location tucked away in the Lincolnshire countryside, with all the luxury lodges overlooking the fishing lakes. One of the cosy lodges await you after a day spent exploring the area, with many good country pubs serving food to be found on your travels. Good walks through the park as well as the surrounding area, with many cycle routes from the doorstep. Nearby Grantham, 7 miles away, has a mainline railway station straight into London for a day out in the capital, as well as many good restaurants, pubs, shops and amenities. On-site the fishing is excellent, with huge catfish (30 lbs+) to be found in the lakes. You will have access to fishing across three lakes, and the fishing is only for guests staying on site. For days out, visit the coast for miles of sandy beaches or head inland, 28 miles to the city of Lincoln, with its spectacular cathedral, castle, popular Bailgate area for shopping, restaurants and bars. Or head down Steep Hill to the Brayford Waterside where you can watch the boats cruise by. After a day exploring you can cosy up in front of the wood burner or relax on the large terrace and enjoy the peace and quiet, with very little light pollution its great for the star gazers among you. Attractions in the area include, Cadwell park race track, Market Rasen Horse racing, Woodhall Spa gold as well as home of the dam busters, Horncastle, antique centre of Lincolnshire and Spilsby Sir John Franklins birth place. Sommersby Tennysons birth place, Coningsby home of the Battle of Briton flight and the Euro fighter. Best of all the Lincolnshire wolds, go out the gate, turn right and you dont have to see a main road let alone cross one.

Within easy reach are the famous Battle of Britain Aircraft Museum and the East Kirby Lancaster Museum, RSPB Gibraltar Point, NT Gunby Hall, Snipedale Nature Reserve and Forest, and the historical city of Lincoln with its cathedral, castle and excellent shopping. Antique hunting can be enjoyed at Horncastle 18 miles away, and Louth offers a lovely traditional market town. Skegness and Ingoldmells with its seaside attractions, is just 2 miles. These 5 holiday cabins, each with furnished verandah for dining al fresco, are located 7 miles from Boston, and 20 miles from Skegness. They are situated just outside the small village of Old Leake where there are two pubs, a supermarket and a children’s play area. The site is ½ mile from the A52 with a regular bus service to Boston and Skegness.
Sheepgate Equestrian Centre is 2 miles away, where National Dressage competitions are held. The local RSPB reserve at Freiston Shore is 5 miles away, whilst Leverton village to the south has a café, supermarket and pub.
There are many country lanes around the site which are ideal for walking and cycling. The cabins overlook an established fishing lake (permit provided), however, guests will also be required to have their own Environment Agency fishing license. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
