    This beautiful part of North Yorkshire is a walkers and cyclist’s paradise, with miles of footpaths, cycle routes and bridle ways not to mention the Coast-to-Coast and Cleveland Way paths. On the doorstep is Castle Howard, home to ‘Brideshead Revisited’ and ITV’s ‘Victoria’, Byland and Rievaulx Abbey, Helmsley Castle and the National Bird of Prey Centre. For those wishing for a little more history and culture the historic city of York is only a 40-minute drive away and a little further afield is the North Yorkshire coast and seaside towns of Whitby, Scarborough, and Bridlington.
