The cottage has been built from beautiful traditional Yorkshire stone, and is tucked away in the grounds of the owner’s home Cherry Garth. It has an open plan living area with a welcoming wood burner to snuggle up in front of after a busy day out exploring the spectacular Yorkshire coast and countryside, and upon arrival you will be welcomed with a lovely welcome pack with tea, coffee and biscuits. There are lovely views from the property onto the garden and the bedroom window overlooks the paddock, where sheep graze.

The picturesque village of Thornton le Dale is located on the edge of the North York Moors, a mere one mile from Pickering. From here you can take a ride on the famous steam train to Grosmont, Goathland (aka Aidensfield in the classic TV series Heartbeat) and the seaside town of Whitby where you can climb the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey. Those looking for a quieter pace of life may prefer to walk the many footpaths and bridleways over the North York Moors.

Less than 3 miles away from the historic town of Whitby as well as nearby glorious golden sandy beaches, coves and bays along the coastline to explore. This renovated cottage has been furnished and decorated to a high standard, with views across the lawned garden down to the enclosed private woodland, complete with a footpath through the trees. This is a haven for wildlife and you may see the resident deer at dawn and dusk.

This is a walker’s dream, embrace the great outdoors and follow one of the nearby trails, it is located next to the Cinder Track running from Whitby, through Stainsacre to Robin Hood’s Bay, Ravenscar and Scarborough. There is also the Cleveland Way along the coastline and the steam train which winds its way over the heather laced hills of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, a delight to explore. There are also ancient forests nearby such as Falling Foss with its waterfall and Dalby Forest, with footpaths, bike trails and zip-lining through the tree tops. For equestrians your horse is welcome to join you so that you can enjoy some of the beautiful trails together.
